Double backing is when a survivor will suddenly change the direction going backwards instead of forwards. So in terms of gameplay, holding W and the switching to holding S to confuse the monster.

Generally speaking, the name of the game is stamina management. If you keep distance he will take an extremely long time to catch up with you. Springtrap is a monster that will eventually kill you, so your goal is stall as much time before it inevitably happens. Things such as juking if you get hit by Ventilation Error or well time double backs right when he hits you with phantom step are decent ways to stall more time. Hearing is a valuable tool as Springtrap is quite loud giving away his locations via creaking noises, voice lines, and footsteps.

Yeah? Of course. You cancel it by pressing the input for the ability again. So on keyboard, press 2. Then upon being able to move; press 2 again.
