Of the three "Daughter of Discord" shorts I created for BronyCon back in 2019, this one was the most personal to me. Not just because of the AppleSpike ship, but because I hope to adopt a child of my own someday. However, some adoption agencies will discriminate against interracial, interfaith, and same-sex couples, as well as single parents and divorcés. So I wanted to portray an unconventional couple trying to adopt. Also, it's important to note that in foster care, it is very rare that siblings stay together, an element I wanted to explore with Cinnamon Stick and Cinnamon Roll, who you've seen in "Daughter of Discord" but may not be as familiar with as Screwball and Mothball. This project got delayed due to the main artist dropping out without telling me, and once I got my life back together after the pandemic, I reopened production with a new team of artists. It's been four years in the making, but it's finally completed!

I'm crying so hard now. Having AJ and Spike connect to CR and CS because they're orphans too was really touching. Irl, these poor kids go through so much and it was beautiful to see Applejack and Spike look past that trauma for a child that just needs love and support.

Awww.. Applejack and Spike are such kind and supportive parents. Couple goals ^^ In fiction I wasn’t very fond of the fact that they literally fell in love the second Cinnamon Stick and Dinkie met though. It didn’t really feel natural. Other than that I loved this! My little sisters are adopted so this was really nice to see

This turned out amazing! What a beautiful story. Totally worth the wait! It was so much fun seeing everyone’s reactions in the chat. Love that their story is based on a real issue, how uncommon it is for siblings getting adopted together… But Im glad the cinnamon siblings got their happy ending. This was so worth the wait. I completely cried. This was beautiful and astounding. I need to go back and rewatch BOD and DOD. Also thank you so much for partnering with such an amazing organization. I cant have biological children so when ready, me and my husband are considering adoption and we both plan to not seperate siblings.

That is so sweet! Considering my preferences, and the enormous possibility I might remain single, I plan on adopting too, once I've earned enough to provide for more than just myself, of course. If finances allow, I'd also like to ensure siblings are not separated.

It's such an honour to have been given the opportunity to be a part of this! I've been wanting to be in daughter of discord since I saw it in 2016, and when the auditions opened up for the shorts I was more than eager to participate. Never did I dream that I would get selected as one of the orphans, and even though it was just a minor role I adored every second of recording for this! It is the biggest joy ever to see this come to life, and I just wanna thank you so much for the opportunity and for picking me among all the candidates, like applejack and Spike did for cinnamon stick and cinnamon roll, and giving me the chance to do this. Thank you so much and this turned out wonderfully

Although the animatic looks great and was made by a hard working artist and the amazing voice acting but let me remind you that applejack was pursuing spike when he was a baby “a tEEnAgEr In PoNy YEaRs” I find that quite disturbing.

12:01 Cinnamon Roll, to be honest, there could be a multitude of reasons. But yes, DF, I agree 100%. If ANY family member cared for these 2, then they would have been there to love and support them. And that's where Applejack and Spike come in. Those two are much better parents then their legitimate father ever was. Thank you for this animation, DF. Stupid question but... Do you have more planned? Because I can't wait to see them. (Also, Happy Mother's Day!!)

This is so cute! 5 years ago I was able to go with my grandma after my parents got arrested, but she couldn't take my three little sisters, the oldest of which having a 7 year age gap with me, a year and ahalf between the rest of them. Thankfully, about a year or two later, they all got adopted by a wonderful couple that still lets me keep contact with them. I'm so glad they weren't separated.

At the end, CR sitting next to Cherry had me squealing in pure glee! I read all the books years ago and that detail sent me right back to all those years ago rooting for my girls to finally get together, and they are literally my favorite ship since DOD!

No way, I am also doing this charity as well this month for National Foster Care Awareness Month with Gamers4theCause! Thank you for publishing this, I love mlp and your other series along with this is amazing! Foster Care is something that definitely needs to be talked about more and Together We Rise does plenty of advocacy for it on there website and Twitter. I was in the Foster Care system so this charity and the whole month is something near and dear to my heart. Keep up the good work!! 😭❤️

This was so beautiful!!!! Not only it was great to see and hear the old cast again!!!! But also the message in this short story!!! I was adopted, but even though I was just days old and an only child, I relate to some of this cases since I wanted a sibling but couldn't understand why we couldn't. And I want to help in any way posibble for other kids to get loving families, like I did.

I can say from experience that the foster care system can be less than stellar, and you will get separated from those you love eventually. I like to see a happy story every once in awhile though, so thanks DF.

I'd love to adopt someday! It's a bit of a dream of mine to become a mother to a twin boy and girl and then later another boy. But I'm open to whatever child warms my heart and wants to call me "Mama". Due to my sexuality, I can't have a child the traditional way. Despite that, I'm more than happy to adopt and give a child a home! Maybe even siblings! I'm still far from being able to make that dream come true, but I'm still so excited for when that day finally comes.

I'm curious if their real parents actually died by fire since I can hear emergency sirens and the background is yellowish (which I presume its fire) at 0:13, so it all makes Sense on why their on an adoption center.

Seeing those boards again made me realize how much ive grown in storyboarding. This was the very first project I joined as a storyboarder/animatic I felt really bad dropping out, but working in this one made me realize the mistakes I've done as an artist and as a worker. God I remember watching DOD when I was younger, And gee do I miss it a lot, This feels so nostalgic and I definitely wish there was more. I loved the message here and as someone planning to adopt one day, I feel for this, After I get to a certain point in my career i plan to adopt and hopefully I can get siblings, I remember being younger and though I wasn’t an orphan, I was in a bad living situation, and the only thing I had was my big brother, Having a sibling is like one of the most important things people can have, And I hate that they often get split up, You should never split siblings if possible, and especially never split twins, God it kills me how often siblings are taken from eachother and are then put in terrible environments, Not to mention how some orphanages treat the children. Kills me.

I remember my first time watching this as a young teen and I really enjoyed it till this day also another thing it’s amazing how I remembered that the cast they all have grown up also their voice has changed over the years The new art style has got better too instead of just pictures and the talking it makes it so much easier to make animation but as I said the animation is very well done maybe u can add colours to it to make it more colourful! ^^

I read the description, while I was rewatching daughter of discord I noticed a new video and this being the new video. Who knew you want to adopt your own child someday. Some people say how they rather have a kid of their own while some would say its terrible to take care of a kid that is not yours.. I don't think it really matters in the end, I say taking care of a kid that needs parents then having them wait till they have to leave and take care of themselves. THE NOSTALGIA IS REAAAAALLLL!!!XD about to graduate from x-ray school, so watching this in it's final product really brings things full circle:) not gonna lie, i miss working on projects, basically had to dedicate all my time to school and work, but soon life will be easierXD fantastic job everyoneXD i will be able to donate when i get hiredXD i wish there was a way that foster youth always can have guaranteed ways of communicating with friends no matter where they go, so that they can keep a stable support system no matter the changes that happen, but i am really glad this charity exists where they can meet up with separated siblings:) it makes me feel so much better about the world hearing about things like this:)

Really enjoyable and heartwarming but even in MLP it's shown Spike and Twilight are more like Brother and Sister then Mother and Son so that should make Twilight an Aunt here not a Grandma.
