Hope the Cardboard Knight venture is an enjoyable one! I too am a board gamer and a woodworker, although my everyday job sadly cuts into the time for both. Anyway, it was really great to see someone demonstrate how their knowledge of 2 areas can be combined all while reviewing a tool. Have a blast with Zoo Vadis! Simply amazes me how Knizia can design such mechanically different games!
Knizia games are so divisive! Some are amazing, some are terrible, some just rub me the wrong way. I don't think any other designer has such a range of emotions delivered by their catalog. Pfister games? Played one, you'll know if you like his style or not, but its a dice roll for every Knizia! It is, however, fantastic to see publishers give many of his games a lovely coat of paint (and a rule or two extra) - Ra and Zoo Vadis look (and play) delightfully, but the original Quo Vadis was - at best - looking like a bad Excel spreadshet. So gross 🤣
Epic. If and when I finally get a laser... I want something like this that is just plug-and-play. Unlikely I'll need as powerful but hey, they'll get cheaper by the month I am sure. Once you have licenceable art up for your D&D Mini's let me know... I'm already working on a list of how many I need :D
I'm very interested in the laser marquetry. Looking forward to that. The 20w would likely be better for the marquetry as it has a finer beam and the 'curve process would help with veneer the that refuses to lay perfectly flat.
I'm jelly, my laser glasses aren't anywhere near that...cool? The auto focus dealie looks helpful, I've ruined a couple jobs by simply straight out forgetting to adjust the focus after changing workpiece thicknesses. Nice one, though you could have released your video on a different day to me releasing my laser review video! 😜
@@woodfather It is strange that you both did a simillar post in tandem. I am thinking of upgrading my original KickStarter Emblaser, nothing wrong with it but is is obviously and engraver not a cutter. For a pure DIY like me the X-Tool looks overblown. Paul, would it be fair to say the S1 is the pro version of Mario's high end amatuer unit ?
@@1963uspl Yeah between all the 20-22w, they're going to perform pretty similar - the Algo probably 'out performs' the S1 20w version. If you're content to build an enclosure, they'd be pretty comparable - its a shame there isn't a class1 equiv in the same price bracket, even if it dropped things like autofocus!
