🎢 Welcome to our THORPE PARK vlog! 🎢
Join us for the official opening weekend of Hyperia, the UK's tallest and fastest rollercoaster! We visited bright and early on Saturday, May 25th, 2024, to experience this brand-new thrill ride. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, Hyperia was closed for the day. Safety is always a top priority, so while it was disappointing, we understand the decision.

Me, in my opinion no one is ready for this ride, mainly that first drop. I had 3 rides and it's great. Ride it when it's opened despite the queue length it is worth the wait

Watching all of these videos makes me feel so lucky that I managed to get three rides on Hyperia on opening day! So sorry that you couldn't get on it but it is 100% worth the wait and I can't wait to see your reaction when you do get on it! I really hope it does open on Thursday and the fact they've been quite specific about timings makes me hopeful!

It's a huge shame this has happened especially after such a good opening day. Mack and Thorpe Park must be panicking to get this sorted ASAP

Opened it too early. Purely rushed for bank holiday and has backfired. Hope you got at least a free return.

Luckily I’m a Merlin annual pass holder! They have given me a one-shot fastrack for when Hyperia reopens and all guests who visited yesterday got a free return! It’s just a shame that some people have travelled hundreds of miles, or even travelled from different countries to experience this coaster and was let down 😞

When it does reopen, what time do you recommend getting to the park?

If you’re planning on going in the first few weeks of opening, I suggest getting to the park as early as you possibly can! The lines for security can be very long! I got there at about 8am, and I believe I would’ve been in the queue for hyperia for around 4 hours from the point I was at. If you can get there earlier, great! 😊

Was there too Saturday, after travelling early hours. I think Mack rides owes the park an explanation. is it not fit for purpose? the park has now lost a big chunk of bank holiiday weekend money due to this early component failure. I also think if there are special extended dates to celebrate a new ride, including an Alice video all the stops should have pulled to make sure it’s operating doing unsociable hours and posting online at silly AM If not running to avoid thousands flocking down.

These things happen from time to time and to be fair the throughput of the previous couple of days had been ridiculous and would put any new ride under alot of strain. I purposefully chose not to go on opening weekend and probably won't do for a couple of months to allow any teething problems to be resolved and hopefully the initial rush to go on it to die down and the queues shorten. Opening day queues including the pre-queue was 6 hours, stuff that!

100%! I fully expected there to be teething problems as with all new coasters! It will be worth the extra wait, I’m sure 😊

I heard there is no ejector airtime on the ride but only floater, is that true? If that is the case, I may be disappponted😢

From what I have heard, the outerbank turn has some ejector airtime, but for the majority of the coaster it feels very floaty, rather than being intense? I’m still yet to have my ride on it though so not 100% sure 🤔

This is a bit of an odd observation, but there's no better video to show where the ejector airtime on Hyperia is, than tpw reverse rider pov. Charlotte's stripey jumper is a great guage for positive and negative G's! It is all a mix between floater and ejector, it feel very floaty while also trying to throw you into the lake! It's a type of airtime that is pretty unique to this coaster. You will 100% enjoy it, it would be pretty hard not to! Also, it is very intense after running for a day and near the back i verged on blacking out on friday!

I’d be gutted if I was you but that’s why I made the stand I’m not visiting Thorpe park for 1/2 months so Thorpe can iron out any issues with the coaster had a feeling this was would happen

Definitely! I was always expecting the ride to have teething problems initially, but I didn’t anticipate it would be closed for the entire day! I’ll be back in a month or so 😊!
