@@bmylove1 that’s a common misconception, but it’s not true in the US. the average is 5’4” for women and 5’9” for men, according to the CDC. edit: (64+69)/2 = 66.5 or 5’6.5”, so if you don’t separate by sex, then 5’6” _is_ very close to the overall average. but by that standard, a 5’6” man would be average, which most americans would never agree with.
