So I found your channel a couple of days ago. the first video i found was your smokeless fire pit. I plan on doing this with my fire pit also, thank you for that!!!!. As a father of 2 daughters, I would like to commend you for having your daughters help you with your projects. My girls have always loved helping me with my DYI projects around the house, and I believe it teaches them to be self sufficient and opens their minds for problem solving. Kudos. In closing, so glad I found your channel and I have subscribed to see what you do next, Keep them coming!!!!!
Another way to hold the kettle in place, make your hole 23 1/2" kettle is 22 1/2" then use 1"upside down conduit clamps on the under side of the table to hold kettle firmly by the rim with 1/4" clearance between kettle and table.I also used 5/4x6 for the table top. Buy the way, love the editing or" absence of" when you mess up, good videos man!
couldnt agree more, only just found this channel as i was bouncing around looking for something fun and informative #NailedIt been on here for 3 hours now lol
Wholesome fun and an educational video. Addressing the comment trolls, involving the family, keeping it real when plans don’t go accordingly, and ripe with personality. Well done, Haxman. Keep the videos coming!
That's part of raising your kids. They don't know what they're doing if they've never done it. It was a nice teaching moment and the humor will keep her from getting frustrated.when she does make a mistake. Perfect
Super entertaining and informative to watch. And as a father of two girls, it's great that you're working with your daughter with this build. I try to get my girls involved as much as I can. Thumbs up to you man!
Seriously dude... You have an amazing channel, great comic timing and some serious skills. Wish you all the best and I look forward to more videos! This is what RU-vid is for, surely!
Great video, love your wicked chanel. I made a cart like this a couple of years ago with the same 57” grill. The wood started to burn and smoke after the 2nd grill session. After that i replaced the burnt wood parts and enlarged the hole to 60” and had L-brackets holding the grill. Still it burnt. I baught a Genesis 2 gas grill after that 🤣 a fix is to make a 57” concrete ring and put the grill on that instead of directly om wood. Greetings from Sweden
Real knife guys would realize thats a beater knife by all the scratches on it lol if it was a $500 piece of pocket jewelry you would need a three peice suit to carry it.😂😂😂😂
Does the wooden table not get damaged/burnt from the heat of the bbq? Was thinking of building a fire pit table myself but not sure what to build the top from
Thank you so much for involving your daughter in the construction of grill cart! I love🥰 that she has your sense of humor and is totally into the build! You rock!!!👍♥️🤩🪚🛠
Just curious but why didn't you just use wider supports or just slide them over a bit to hold up the concrete (knife dulling) stone instead of those flimsy L brackets?
Lol that ending though 😂😂. I love the grill cart idea! So simple. I should do one for my kamado. I'm always wishing I had a counter next to it, the little flap tables that come up on it are too small. When I grill its a serious amount of food. I have 5 kids and they hunnnngry
For a upgrade I would put a mag bar to hold knifes and such also for the stain I really like the look when you char the wood with a blowtorch then stain it, perfect look for a bbq
Cant wait to get my first house by the end of the year so I can follow each and every single one of your videos! my wife will hate me but it will be worth it....
In South Africa where we had a braai (bbq) every weekend we always used wood or coal if we were in a hurry, tastes the best. Now living in London all I can do is watch these videos of making bbq stands...lol
HAX, you have to stop listening to the haters buddy. (Wait don't, because you make em funny EVERYTIME) I don't know how I found your channel, but I love it. With three Sons, and one daughter (my youngest) , a tip of the hat to you. She was the hardest of the four. I'm here to tell you, Girls are the toughest! Don't tell anyone though, I love her the best. ( lol ) Great channel, great content. Keep em coming! ~ MrSeitz
What perfect timing, was just about to do this with the exact same grill. Came across your channel a few weeks ago and been running through all the videos. Keep up the good content!
ULTIMATE MOBILE GRILLING STATION!! Haha amazing job, I want to try this but don't have any of the tools, only a drill and a hammer. Challenge accepted!
I picked up a 5/8" x 36" axle rod and some washers and two collars to keep the tires from coming off. These collars have an Allen set screw to tighten them down to keep the tires on, did not have to drill. I got all this from Tractor Supply. I Love when your Daughter Mugs 😁 it up for the Camera. I used my axle and wheels for a new wheel borrow that I brought. I also had to cut my axle down and put on little axle caps. Make sure you grease your bearings and axles on the wheels. Also get the kids some safety glasses. 👀 Keep your eyes 👀 safe. Great video.
I wish you were my neighbor!! Love the comedy, content, insight and absolutely love that your daughter is helping. I have one child and my daughter is my best helper!! Seriously though I’d love to be your neighbor lol!
8:40 you are amazing man - keep it up. Probably the best way to deal with haters out there. Good content, awesome to watch, learning by laughing - what else could I wish for.
Wood next to fire.... What could possibly go wrong with that? The flash point of wood is the same as paper, about 400*f. It looks quite nice and was a cool project! Just be careful or it will be a whole different kind of BBQ. Cheers 🍻
As for your Charcoal versus Gas propaganda bit. Measure your oun chest hair! There are so many reasons why using a propane grill is BETTER, so I'll never touch charcoal!
Great work! Not only on your projects but with your beautiful family! Very refreshing to see. I'll be doing the wine barrels and lights in my yard 🤞... thank you!
Nothing better than watching a Dad share a love of carpentry skills with his daughters. As a self taught lady crafter, who has taught both of her male and female children, I thank you for helping your girls feel empowered through power tools. Dad well done! 👍✌️
Pretty good grill cart ! Good job ! For your Ginny and chicken coop try using Ceder wood ; because Ceder tends to deter rot, and bugs like mosquitoes, flies, etc !
Enjoyed everything about this video. Thanks for all the work that you put into making a great video. Though i think the best part bout it is when your daughter has her friends over, and you overhear her tell them that you and her built it together. It will put a big smile on your face.
Everything I make is sorta .That would be the most expensive table ever if I had to pay my daughter to help . Is their a filter to take eye rolls out of videos ? No matter I'm not a you tuber .
Dear Russell Crowe, What's wrong with your voice and why are you pretending to have an American family on this DIY RU-vid channel? 😆 I'm kidding. But, you do have a resemblance. Lol. I liked your fire pit lights video. I subscribed. 😃👍🏻
I made some adjustments for my 26.5 inch kettle, just added 4 inches here and there. I don't know how critical that 32 3/8 inch leg dimension was, but by backing off an inch I was able to get 3 legs from an 8 foot 4x4, then drilled 1 inch lower for the axle. ,,,, c'', }
You obviously are NOT a painter, NEVER allow the paint or stain to come within 1" of the metal band on the paint brush, this will cause the brush strands to flare out and it's nearly impossible to clean the brush properly. I was taught that by a MASTER PAINTER many years ago!
Dear Mr. Haxman, please be advised if you do not correct your behavior you may be suspended based on complaints from PETK (People for the Ethical Treatment of Knives). BTW love your videos 😁
1- bang the knife against concrete... Sharpening stones exist... *Waits for anger* 2- parentals who build with kiddos are superheroes. I did a LOT of DIY with my father and I hated it, but I enjoy it now 🤣
As a Canadian who does this type of work for a living, the Robinson screw things really got me because it's true. Best type ever made, no reason to ever use anything else.
Man... I did these kinds of things with my daughters whenever I could. I hate they are all grown up now and I miss all the fun we had together doing little projects around the house. Cherish every moment, you're gonna miss it so badly one day.
First 10 seconds and I have to comment...now I'm no grill master so yea I use propane to grill mainly because I use the propane for other purposes so its easier, now for the chest hair remark that comes from sucking brake clean fumes, eating rust from under your truck and man glitter (saw dust) so if you could make and updated video that'd be great...🤣🤣🤣👍
Somehow I have maybe a $$ idea for you when you have these projects perfected could you please sell blueprints or kits 💡💰, one that I wish you would do, for me, special request, is a video on making one of those good old favorite wooden picnic tables, now it sells at home depot or Lowe’s special orders for $$$ please 🙏😇😎
I'm a bit disappointed you didn't 45⁰ the corners. I can think of a couple of changes though. A 16" tile in place of the concrete could add some color. I cook with propane so that would be more convenient and it tastes better, if done right. I got hair on my chest and a beard, and I really don't mind the hair on my back.😉😁
Love that his guy's daughter is helping him out, but I cringle at her long hair being around power tools. I took a wood working class in college that was taught by an old carpenter. He had a bag of rubber bands in his desk. If any one had loose long hair (man or woman) he would make them tie it up. He would say I don't want to deal w/ the paperwork of having someone get scalped in my class! LOL! To this day I tie up my hair when cooking or working with power tools.
I'm not sure what I did wrong, but that hair you promised... not my back or my chest. I look like a freakin' Hobbit!!! All over my feet! At least I got a great Grill Station out of it.
All that nice work and then you just put no thought or pride into the staining. Steaks runs and drips everywhere, plus it was the wrong product for that application. You should of sanded it all down, rubed on a nice color (cherry, walnut, ect...) and finished with a marine varnish. shame on you. did like the build other than that.
bro ... you should do some "fuckups compilation" you really funny bro, and that shows what happens in real life... you left me in laugh tears a few times now ;)
Table grill cart addition Metal fixed plate caster wheels. Instead of them for wheeling the cart around, angle them for the Weber to sit on so you can spin the grill instead of doing Yoga over the flame trying to flip some burgers. I've never seen anyone do it and I don't mean to toot my own horn but it sounds like pretty good idea.
