We are about to file for divorce. but here is the funny thing, we still love each other a lot. we fight over silly things, like i used up a can of tomatoes to make spag sauce without asking her permission. I love her, and i want her back. we havent been to church in 5 yrs, we both used to be very involved at church

I can relate. I am going through the same thing. But a few days ago, we had one of our big fights and he was drunk and hurt me. After a few days word got out to my family and even though we had talk it out before they knew, everything came crashing on us cos my family was furious. Even though he has not been a good husband to me but I can still see the good in him and something happend. The days after my family came for me to take me back home, I would still talk to him because he has no one to turn to. But to my surprise he started telling me that he has been praying and he knows that God was talking to him one night and he knew that we both have strayed from the path of the light, from God. It's been just a few days but I know that he is real and won't just say things to get back with me. He has never been baptised and was never interested. But now he wants to and he told me he wants to build our life together with great faith in our Lord and his son Jesus Christ as the foundation of our home, our family and our union together. I believe God has touched him and me too because I can feel the change in both of us. So I am telling you this because I know that your man too will find God. And for you to pray for change and the Lord will hear your prayers. I wish you the best and I hope this helps.

I couldn't help but notice that you said that you have envy for her husband's walk with her. If God hasn't answered your prayers yet, its maybe because of just that. You see I learned that to envy anything is one a violation of one the main Ten Commandments. "Thou shalt not Covet" anything, for this is sin & he turns his face from sin and will not answer. As a person that loves your spouse & wants the best for them ( a relationship with Christ),I can relate...as that's all I want for mine as well. I've learned that in this instance that we should continue to really pray that he change our spouses heart to truly love & seek him ,but to also praise & thank him for what he's done & doing in our spouses life as though its already done & believe (faith). And understand that just we don't see it, doesn't mean he's not working on them. Remarriage while first spouse is alive is adultery. Mark 10, luke16 verse 18, Roman's 7. The only people who can get remarried are those who've lost their spouse in a death. Only death breaks a marriage. 2nd 3rd 4th 5th marriages are adultery. And no adulterer will inherit the kingdom of God Galatins 5
I wish I had just a fraction of the faith the people on this thread have. My wife wants a divorce which devastated me. Now after thinking about it, I don't think I can or even want to stand for restoration.
YES! With God ALL things are possible. There is hope. Lean into Him. Take God at his word. Surrender. Everything. Fast from any input, music, opinions or stories about other marriages. Spend time seeking Him first, He will answer you! He may be using this situation to do some work in you first.
