Pro tip: Mark your line with a sharpie at 100ft increments. It will help when the captain says they are are 340ft. Especially going on little sleep this will help.

Great content Taku. Such a neat trip. I would not be happy from the idiots that didn’t move. It’s common courtesy to reel up and get out of the way. I lost a huge kingfish because someone just stood there and didn’t move and tangled our lines. I try to avoid party boat fishing. Will go with 4-6 max to avoid losing a fish for such a dumb reason. Anyways, Cheers man!

I saw Adam’s version as well. Fighting tuna is insane. Glad you chose the latest sony a7iv. Can’t wait ‘til you two get married or have kids. Great video. That camera is insane but beyond my budget. The lens as well at f1.8, low light and ibis on the camera body makes shooting at low light on hand held effortless. As a photographer hobbyist, that camera is my dream come true.

I do this trip 2x a year. Last trip I caught 2 BF tuna. One was 130 lbs. LOVE IT.

I often tell the story of fighting a 300 lb tuna for hours.... im 40 and not in my prime any longer but that fish humbled me...... the worst part a 12 foot shark took his tail as we he were getting it in the boat

I was on a 1.5 on the tribute out of seaforth back in may! Crazy fishing, we caught 29 bft int he 80-120 range the first night! day was dead for us but the night bite was popping! I caught my first BFT around 80-90 lbs

I did a day & half on the Polaris Supreme. OMG, 8 straight hours of jigging at 300-350ft. You don’t understand unless you’ve done it. Your arms and body get put through the wringer before you even catch an actual tuna. LOL, I caught 2. Not cows, but still happy to have caught.

San Diego is the best for Tuna. I went out of Davey's Locker in Newport Beach. We got some sculpin and barracuda on the day I went out. Lots of fun. Can't wait to go back to SD. Cuz that's where it's at.
