I lived in Cilmeri but Went to school in Builth until I was 17 - thanks for posting this - brought back some memories. One was falling off my grocery bike comming down Hospital Road. Now live in Adelaide, Australia
This brings back memories of my first holidays, drinking with mates, away from parents, staying on Price's farm in a caravan and fishing the wye for trout, plus shooting rabbits & hares. I recall the news report of Elvis dying while staying here.
God bless you WelshRob1964. 💯Fascinating to see more of Builth. Brough back very happy memories of my time driving around Wales 1977 to 1983. Bigger than I thought. Overnighted in digs before and after the Welsh International car rally of 1983. You started off entering Builth from the circle roundabout, that gives a spur road entry into the Royal Welsh showground. Hoping you would have gone past North Road Garage... Know how you feel about beautiful Wales; I feel the same way too.❤
Glad you liked the video and it brought back good memories. The old North Road Garage you remember is gone and new petrol stations and a co-op there. The town has changed a lot at the showground end which is actually Llanelwedd not Builth really. Funny you say about coming in that end, there will be another video (sometime) on Builth that will show the new garages etc.
I remember the hospital from the 80 and 90s and surprised it was gone too, I had to work out where it was as all houses now. Not sure when it closed, let alone demolished.
