Some parts of the 2023 drive are sped up for consistency.
I'm not sure who the driver was in the original video, I avoided pulling into your driveway because that'd be weird haha. The video was posted on the channel Vintage Video Swamp.
The drive was done on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023 at around 4pm. This is what the pre-rush hour traffic looks like on a typical Tuesday.
Route:
Start on Cadiz Crescent
Left onto Copenhagen
Right onto Derry
Right onto Winston Churchill
Merge onto 401-E
Exit and turn right onto Mississauga Road
Right onto Argentia
Left onto Derry
Right onto Copenhagen

That was a great video comparison. For the most part things haven't changed a whole lot in 33 years. I'm curious as to what camera you used to get the footage from 1990.

I lived in Meadowale in 2001 to 2017 near ninth line and Derry road when Metro was called 'Dominian' and there was a Blockbuster video rental place

I grew up here too! Except that was more 2000's when a good bit of the urbanization in the video had already been put in place. When we moved here in 2005, that stretch of Winston Churchill already had houses on its sides on the other side of that sound barrier. Argentia also already had those gas stations and shopping plazas it has now. What I'm unsure about is when Derry and Winston Churchill had all those extra lanes put in including the slip roads for turning right, I'd assume it's when those houses were built.

@@manganesedioxide14 Yeah, those lanes came in towards the end of the 90s, I think I couldn't swear to it because I wasn't paying attention. I lived in Meadowvale from 1984 to 2000. I was really hoping the drive would continue up Argentia, which used to end more or less at Fifth Line (which doesn't exist there anymore). There was so little traffic on it then that that's where my instructor trained me to drive. :)

I only really cared about roughly syncing up turns and the highway merge, way too much effort to sync them exactly Also edited this with openshot which is a nightmare to use but it's also the only video editing software I know how to use lmao
