Westheimer is an iconic and ambitous road that spans 19 miles out from the heart of Houston, Texas. The majority of the stretch of road is lined with shopping and restaurants and so on. They can be found in unassuming strip malls or fancier mixed-use developments or districts or sometimes just scattered about. Because of the size of the city of Houston and the length of the road is can form a special meaning for people as they navigate their lives around the city throughout major life events. Maybe they have a favorite restaurant or their church is nearby or they had a high school reunion somewhere along here.
Westheimer passes through many areas of Houston including the Montrose area, where it essentially begins near the Mid Town area of the city, through Kirby Street and the River Oaks neighborhood and district, Updown and the Galleria, the Mid West area and Briarmeadow subdivision, past the inner and outer loop basically all the way to Katy.
Places that feature live music along this road include Numbers Nightclub, Avant Garden, Fiora's Bottle Shop, Catbirds, The Loch Bar and The Bull and Bear. Good times.
