Sir what if at the end Mr. Oliver didn't actually reach the school but he felt like he was close to the school? Like hallucinating that he was close to the school but was just running into denser area of the forest? Or maybe, as he was coming from the bazaar where there are restaurants, he was drunk and just hallucinating all this.

Great explanation!! Sir, you really made me feel this story Edit: I think he saw a horror movie on a windy day, and his torch was low on batteries, but nothing happened. He went & slept and all of this was a dream, because your dreams are made off of your imagination. He probably saw a horror movie which was the reason for the horror aspect. And when going home, his torch probably was low on battery and eventually went our near the school and it was a windy day with trees making scary sounds because of which the thought of some paranormal activities stuck in his head which caused the dream.
