Great video, no parts at tractor supply for break downs, however, I think the owners/operators could repair most with bailing wire or common knowledge. Thanks for taking the time and effort to share this Super video, greatest channel I've subscribed to.
Fascinating look at the past. When farming was much more hazardous and hard. Suggestion. Video would greatly benefit if it had some narration and subtitles. We are in an era where most people have no experience with farming operations in general let alone historic machinery.
The original reason was to be away from the steam engine as well they throw sparks and embers to limit the straw piles catching fire from said embers and that just became the norm with traction engines, the length does help limit the belt tracking off the pulleys tho too
@@HarrisPropertyMaintenance I was thinking about that. But then again you see long belts in different applications as well. Like rock crushers. Also long belts were used with gas tractors as well
