Season 2 Episode 1 'Soul Care'
Dr. Manning and Dr. Halstead treat a pregnant patient from a car accident and are forced to perform an emergency cesarean on her. Meanwhile, Dr. Choi adjusts to his new role as Chief Emergency Resident, Dr. Reese accepts a psychiatry residency offer from Dr. Charles, and Dr. Rhodes is introduced to his new superior. Also, Dr. Manning and new medical student Jeff Clarke (guest star Jeff Hephner) connect, which infuriates Dr. Halstead.

I love this episode. It felt like the father begged the grim reaper to give him 10 more seconds so that he could see his daughter and granddaughter one last time before he goes. Bittersweet ending.

I think this episode is very true. People do hold on just that little longer, the father, that grandfather held on a little longer he knew they were coming.

Absolutely a bittersweet ending. Reminds me of that cartoon where the grim reaper gives a dying new mother just a little extra time to spend with her husband and new born child before she passes on. So beautiful ❤️

it wasn't done properly and not necessary for a cesarean section. It's called crede's manouver, we use it for normal vaginal deliveries we push our knuckles to the top part of the uterus (trying to use laymans term here) to help a mother push her baby out

Imagine being a doctor and having to watch the life drain from your patients eyes, like in surgery I might be a little better, but if their eyes are open and they are dying and you have to watch them. Sounds like fun to me
