Thanks Mark, it was a wonderful time . They grow up too fast so we really cherish these moments .We have decided that we can cruise Georgian Bay for the next 10 years and still find new pockets to explore!

I’ve found that 12-2 electrical wire works for tougher jobs and last much longer.

Where did you buy the clothes line? Looks so neat!
@expeditionseanest
@expeditionseanest Год назад
Hello Kathleen . I picked up the clothes line at our local outfitters store . I would recommend one without any metal as it will rust in salt water. Here is a link to one I found on Amazon for you . www.amazon.ca/Coghlans-0433-Adjustable-Bungee-Clothesline/dp/B000NUM8D4/ref=asc_df_B000NUM8D4/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=292982336078&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8174569228559650717&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1002604&hvtargid=pla-320315332218&psc=1 It is not the exact one I have, but close. Google clothes pin free clothes line and have a look for others if you like. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching! We love to hear comments from viewers like yourself.

Do you think the electric trolling motors would work for how you use a dinghy? Would the solar panel be enough to charge the battery?
@expeditionseanest
@expeditionseanest 9 месяцев назад
Hey Rick, Nope, the electric motor would work fine for short runs like 1 mile. We travel 2 to 6 miles to better fishing gro unds. If we added another solar panel I think it would do the job but with just the one panel it only chargers up the existing house batteries in a day. It would not be able to charge the electric motor battery as well.

@@expeditionseanest agreed! I look about the same age as your sons and some of my best memories were spending weeks out on Lake Superior in my families sailboat with my siblings and parents. The best memories ever.

great video I never thought you could actually live on a boat that size but you guys make it look so easy and picking the right boat for you I and hoping in the near future to do the same as you guys are doing I require about to live on just me and my wife I will be taking a captains course before I go any distance and get the right boat for us as I am in the process of selling my parent's house as they have passed away a few years ago once my sister has vacated the property so its split between me and her so there will be plenty to pay off our house and bills and credit cards and what's left which should be quite a bit as it was valued at half a million pounds split two ways plus our house so I will need to keep at least half in the bank and get the right boat for us I am looking at a 65 footer which I have captained before plus many speed boats I am also learning map reading and sextant operation I am already radio certified as I used to work for emergency services here in the UK and then the RAC the royal automobile club as I am a mechanic as well fully trained with all the qualifications busses waggons and cars and vans and including electrics 12 volt and 24 volt and fault finding plus medical training I am now 61 retired though a back problem but its under control now so once the house is sold I will be making some videos on youtube on my channel or I will make a new one as I wish to travel around the UK coast first then go over to the Bahamas Jamaica then onto Miami US and up the coast to new york and back again will be shooting plenty of footage when we go so I will make sure the boat is in tip top condition and also have it inspected by a professional to certify it before we set off so the engines will be checked by me and if they require overhauling I will do it myself as I will know they will be done right as I have built so many diesel engines in my 35 years of working on lorries and busses i rebuilt one coach engine and it did over two and a half million miles and was still running fine when i left the company for the RAC . and there we had further training and exams in common rail diesels electrons fly by wire systems and fault finding there you never stopped learning as when your on the road fixing a members car you have to know what you are doing as there is no one to help you there as when you work in a garage this is why in the RAC you have six month probation so if you don't come to a certain standard your out and all mechanics are fully trained before they come into the job it's being on there own some just can't hack it so I became a training officer for ten years teaching them on the road skills and safety I full enjoyed my job but my back failed me and was invalided out had an 8 hour operation on my back which stabilised it but left me half paralyzed down my right leg I can't feel my toes except the big one or my outer side of my leg so I have to be careful what I step on as one day we kept hearing clicking sounds when I was walking so I got denise my wife to look and there were to drawing pins stuck in the sole of my foot lol so now I am careful 18 years have passed so I learnt to paint in water colours and oils and play the guitar and crochet baby blankets to sell and yes I am a man lol it just keeps me busy because no one will employ me because I am on the highest dosage of morphine we have different morphines than you guys in the states they take out the high part so I am not addicted in the summer when its warmer I can go days without taking any it's the cold winters which does me in so my wife is going to take the captains course with me just in case the boats I've been looking at our six berths as we have three grown up kids now adults one has given me a grandson a year old now so I will be doing paintings around the world and selling them when we get to port I hope all that I have painted in oils have been sold so hopefully the trend will carry on any way I think I've said to much sorry to bore you if you actually read this so all the best keep safe love your channel and will spread the word so all the best from John from Rugby UK.

I’m going to the North Channel this summer for the first time in my R-29S. When you’re giving the tip on the Home Depot wire ties (which I bought BTW - thanks) - I can see your reel for the shore tie. Can you do a tutorial on the reel, how you get to the shore, how you tie up at the shore and the boat, how you think about one tie or two ties, how you think about the wind when you’re tying up and all the rest. This kind of anchorage is new to me and I would love a tutorial. It could be just a talking head tutorial because obviously the footage is from last summer. Thanks for considering.
