Very nice footage, thank you very much. We love our Scampi (Shipman, 1974). She is indeed still a pretty fast boat and with good sails, we still manage to beat most of the more modern boats. Some footage of Spinnaker sailing would be nice as well.
I had the opportunity to sail a Scampi 30 last year, too, in Denmark, and I agree that it sails fantastic! It can do 7 knots in light wind (3 bft) only with the Genoa. I might be looking for such a boat for myself in some years. I saw from your video you are using an outboarder engine. Is this replacing the main (inboarder) engine? How many PS...
Original, there was a Faryman diesel engine in the boat. It was taken out due to age and due to I wanted a light boat. Outboard engine should be min. 6hp

@@agentu8969 Outboard is only recommended for sailing in and out of port..depends on waves,wind,current but expext no faster than 6 knots in calm conditions
When I have sailed the boat off shore in Danish seas, the boat felt a kind of little. Anyhow, people have crossed the atlantic in much smaller boats than the Scampi. The Scampi is suited well for coastal cruising and with only 160cm downunder, you can sail close to land or into protected waters
