One of the greatest lessons I've learned was: It's not about avoiding adversity, it's how you deal with it. Bad things are always gonna happen. You just gotta learn and grow from them. Y'all have certainly proven that to be true. Here's to better days ahead.
I'm glad you share the bad as well as the good, such is life. Was happy to see that Josie is pregnant, can't wait to see her litter. She will always be my favourite 💜
on your tomatoes with rotten bottoms, that is likely 'blossom end rot' you can research this online. Primarily it is a problem from lack of calcium in the soil. Here is info from almanac -
We love us some KC Farms. Resiliency is the name of the game. Never easy losing any animals and we always second guess if there was something else we could have done. You guys can surely count your blessings over the successful years and continue to pray and be thankful in the valleys as I know you do. God Bless KC Farms.
So sad to hear about Maureen! Thanks for including the good and the bad. I would like to especially thank you for your Christian content. God is good! 🙌
Sending our love... We know how hard it can be on the farm and are so proud of you and all you do... Especially with sharing it with the world. Thank you for your courage and encouragement. ❤
I am so sorry about your loss on the farm. I know it's sad, though. Things happen. No judgment. You are doing everything right as far as I can see. God bless you and your farm. ❤🙏 I like seeing the real things.
Gardening is much much harder than raising livestock. I have tried all of the organic sprays on my fruit trees. This year I am moving to pesticides simply because it is a LOT of work for me to spray, fertilize, prune, water, etc. You would think it was better to buy them from the store, but it is not IMO. First, you can control how much you spray and how close to harvest you spray. Now last year I had bushels and bushels of apples and we weighed them and then compared the store price for apples...I would have had to spend well over $2,000 dollars to buy that many apples. I canned them, dried them, froze them, turned them into cider and liquor, ate them fresh, gave them to my livestock as supplemental treats, and gave them away (but you could sell your excess) so it was a great blessing. Contact your farm extension and tell them what you want to do with your farm and they will tell you what you can use to come close to achieving that. On tomatoes...you either have beetles infecting the tomatoes through their saliva or blossom end rot which I have never had but I think can be treated with...Epsom salt supplements??? Not sure. It has been a long time since I read about that. The farm extension people will know that as well. I believe it is a mineral deficiency though.
Hi John. First I want to say that I am sorry about Leroy. I will miss seeing the donkeys. I also have a question about the chickens. When a hen goes broody. About how long do they stay broody? Thank you have a great day.
I'm so very sorry for your losses. We've been a mini farm for about 7 years now and it's still hard when you lose one. Thanks for keeping it real. Take care of yourselves. ❤
Sorry for your losses. I love watching this channel. It does make me wish that I lived on a farm or Homestead. However I also know I would not physically be able to do 1/16 of what you guys do. However it does give me lots of good information that I am enjoying with my research for my novel that I am currently working on. I am mentioning your channel in the acknowledgments.
The heat and variable rain has really put a strain on the plants and animals here as well. Bummer about the nectarines, we just planted our first tree of those and i Hope you find the issue/solution to share. I'll keep an eye on the comments... Sorry about the 🐖 an 🐴 😢😢 I know mareen will find an awesome home!
Sorry for your losses😢. But more importantly, when you keep it real, it’s actually inspirational. Although the truth hurts sometimes it’s lessons for the future. Your family is doing a great job. Thank you.
Your slicers aren’t getting eaten, that’s blossom end rot from inconsistent watering..it’s been very dry in Arkansas too & I’ve been having the same problem.🫤Consistent watering & sprinkling finely crushed tums around the base of the plants or directly to the water if your using a can. I hand water if I’m using additives like calcium or fertilizer. Neptune’s harvest liquid fruit & veg fertilizer works very well to add a boost.☺️
Kaolin clay could try on fruit trees seen on The Gardening Channel With James Prigioni video This Magic White Powder Eliminates 95% of Garden Problems. I have not used.
