Tula is located 170 kilometers south of Moscow. This is the administrative center of the Tula oblast with a population of about 500 thousand people. It's located on the Central Russian Upland on the bank of the Upa River and is included in the list of 50 largest cities in Russia.
The main attraction of the city is the Kremlin, an architectural monument of the 16th century. Built in 1520 on the left bank of the Upa River, the stone fortress was a defensive line for two centuries. The Kremlin has 9 towers and 2 cathedrals: Assumption Cathedral and Epiphany Cathedral. The Kremlin is located in the very center of Tula, not far from the "Moscow railway station."
In Tula, you can find the famous art object "Taming a Flea" and a monument to the Tula Pryanik. Tula State Museum of Weapons also attracts a lot of tourists. Many exhibits of the museum are unique in their kind.
