My friend told me he had a small WANKER🤥 and that when he propose to his girlfriend he is afraid she gonna say no so he bought a big diamond ring. when she opened it she "omg it's a HUGE diamond ring" to which i murmured "Yea it's a Huge diamond penis."

This subject is close to my situation. I totally agree with your opinion. I put blame on the diamond industry for this problem and we now find ourselves expecting to buy these rings. It was De Beers Diamonds who introduced diamonds through a clever marketing scheme made us believe that the value of love was symbolized by the engagement ring. This was cleverly done because the diamond had no value until we bought into the idea. This took place around the 1400 hundreds. All my life I came to believe that diamonds were expensive because they were without knowing why. During my search for an engagement ring my opinion did not change. I was looking at a diamond ring for my Filipina fiancé who I was going to propose to in the Philippines. They were over a thousand US dollars. Then I came across the lab grown diamonds and discovered that they were made like earth diamonds from carbon. I could not tell the difference. They were just as sparkly as diamonds. The price was considerably more reasonable. I began to rationalize between the two. To add to more discoveries of diamonds, I learned about the Blood Diamonds. The inhumane treatment of diamond mine workers by the very company that monopolized the diamonds to control their prices, De Beers. After these discoveries, my mind took a complete outlook on diamonds. I will not buy diamonds again for myself. Little did I know I would be making an exception later. I bought a beautiful engagement ring set a moissanite around $200. We took our engagement portrait in our Barong and the ring looked stunning. I returned back to the US to bring her under the Fiancé Visa route. In pictures I’ve been seeing, I noticed she was not wearing her engagement ring. I confronted her about this and she told me it was fake and had very little value. After explaining my reasons, it didn’t matter. She said she thought the ring was diamond until a friend asked her to get it appraised. She said she felt uncomfortable wearing it because people will talk that her ring is fake and as a professional citizen it did not support her image. Also she said that people see the ring as a symbol of how much he loves her. “ I don’t want people to think you are cheap, so I don’t wear it. They don’t know you have done so much for me already.” I was caught in between deciding what to do. Gritting my teeth I decided. I want her to wear my ring. I want people to know how lucky I am to have her. So I texted and said we have a budget and adhere to it and find a diamond ring that will make you show to everyone. Now in pictures, I see her wearing the beautiful ring and it brings warmth and love more than ever to my heart. In the end the diamond found itself on her finger but it is the last diamond purchase I will make. For me the ring is a symbol of an agreement to be together. The value about the symbol not how much it cost.

You two have a good attitude toward debt. If you want to have a secure happy stress-free life together then you need more money coming in than going out. Debt is usually counter productive to that goal and it's just a temporary quick-fix solution that enables you put off the effort to real budgeting which requires work and sacrifice. With regard to the ring. The ring is purely symbolic. The idea that 'love concurs all' can only exist in romance novels, independently wealthy families or societies that have a good welfare system. If you don't feel the guy can be a good provider than it's best to run away. A expensive or cheap ring is both OK, but it depends on the context of how you two plan to live together.

I agree with this woman's feelings, after eight years if all you can come up with is a three dollar ring that's embarrassing and should be an indication to this woman that he is not in a Financial position to support a family. People who glorify poverty and think little things are noble live in poverty. It's OK to live within your means but if all of the disposable cash you have is three dollars you might want to reconsider marriage.

So they both were happily together before proposing and poverty wasn’t the issue being together. Now due to poverty he came with this ring but poverty was not her issue to stay with him during all this time? I don’t see the difference being together before and after marriage. Being poor doesn’t mean you have to give up the right to desire a wonderful partner in life. It just needs to be the right partner who is willing to face all future struggles together along with their future happiness.

It doesn't matter how much the Is ring costs. What matters is to love that you have for one another. You can get married to any buddy and you can spend a $1000 a million dollars on a ring and doesn't work out. Have you had that real love? That's what matters. And a real woman would know that. That's why I love you, babe. H, I know, that's why I love your page. Cause you know, you got the you have. The real scenario's things that people have to think about everyday. Two things about this. 1) Those $3 or $6 engagement rings would probably cost $50+ in the US. 2) With the nature of the jewelry business a $6 ring maybe cost $1 to make and a $99 ring cost $1.50 to make. I've seen many $300 pieces of jewelry that I know for a fact have less than $10 in silver/gold & gemstones. So it is entirely wise to save on a ring and instead invest in something with true value for the future.

My comment here to this video it's well explained. It's not how much you pay for or something. Is the love and care and respect that you put into something for someone who means a lot to you. But if she only cares about how much you spent on that item then it shows that she is very materialistic person. She doesn't appreciate the things that someone does for her.

That's what I truly love about my wife that she's not into getting so many expensive items like most Western woman seem to be after. She doesn't like to waste money on thigs like flowers for Valentines Day or even her birthday. I have seen many women get angry at their husbands or boyfriends for not buying them some type of expensive item instead of just getting the best gift which is love. You can replace any item but you can't replace love.

Imo the ring is just the symbol and a token. The true value is in the meaning behind it. It doesn’t matter if the ring is expense ,cheap or free. It doesn’t take away from its meaning. So spend what you can afford and those who receive the ring look past the physically cost as the cost of something does not equal its value they are completely different things.

I paid $4000 for an engagement ring many years ago. Well, our marriage didn't last because she divorced me after 12 years. I asked for the ring back in Court, but the judge denied my request. The value of that ring was worthless in my mind. A total waste of money. Put your value in each other, not a ring. True lasting love for life is priceless. I've been scammed and learned that a ring, priest, license and ceremony is not required for a biblical marriage.

That’s me guys I spoilt my filapina and made a bit of a rod for my own back , I’m not willing to share the cost of the engagement ring. I think she thinks along those lines of maybe been valued by how much is been spent on her, maybe it’s an insecure thing. There’s a good chance she will be living with me in Australia so she will get a reality check.

I spoiled my ex-Filipina-wife and she still cheated me with other men. Spoiling a woman (any woman) does not guarantee her fidelity. When we got married, rather than spending a lot of money on our wedding, I decided to buy her parents a multicab, because they were poor. 14 years later, when I divorced her, it all exploded in my face. But now I'm talking from a foreigner's perspective. If the husband is a Filipino who makes 250p/day, he has spent more than a day's salary for her engagement ring, which is not bad as his salary really puts him in "survival mode". My advice would be: don't spend more than you can afford. Once you are married it is better you can put food on the table and buy milk for the baby than that you can show off your expensive engagement ring!

I guess she wanted the 599 peso ring 🤣 Yes, this is Western culture mentality scary to see so much of it in the Philippines.. You know the crazy thing is. The engagement ring was designed by the jewelry companies to make more money.. In the old days there were no engagement rings, just the wedding ring. Yes, just a total moneygrab! Also, maybe people should think do they want an expensive ring. Or do they want to prepare for their future for children buying a house having a family.. People are too materialistic ! I love ismi's attitude roger you definitely have a good one!

Hell, I got married in 1981, we were both young (early 20s) We spent most of our money towards the wedding, so I didn't have much for rings. I also bought a cheap $3 pair of rings JUST for the ceremony. Later I bought us a pair of gold bands $300, .....It's not the cost, it's the sentiment/thought that counts. Besides, NO one knew our "fake" wedding rings were so cheap lol My filipina is like Ismi, she don't care on the price, she is practical with money. Her old wedding rings are not expensive, they look like stainless steel bands since her and hubby are/were farmers, he passed away almost 3 years ago from a brain tumor. IF his ring would fit me, hell I'd use those for OUR wedding lol. I will buy our own, but won't spend $1,000s either...We can use that money for living life, I'm not rich, but get plenty each month retired. Plus I've helped her expand her flower farm a lot bigger this past year, where now she has flowers each week to harvest and sell as well as employ her brother the last 6 months. All her debt has also been paid off from the hard times, dealing with her hubbies health issues until he passed, too young @ 45

Here’s the thing in America get it if you are young and you don’t have pot of money but most cases because you spend a lot of money to get your lady over to America or go over there and get married in the Philippines. You should be old enough to at least have a $2000 US valued ring. If you’re young and America and you’re 18 to 20 to get married sure 500 to 1000 but then you take the original in the upgraded when you’ve been married for a while

The entire ring concept came from someone in America or Europe around 1800s early 1800s and they decided to use the diamond is the standard so really you could give the lady anything from you it’s from your heart you don’t need society telling you what’s right or wrong but being out right Cheep is wrong.

I think it depends on the overall circumstances... I live in Europe and have a relatively good living, my (hopefully soon) fiancée comes from the Philippine provinces, is a single parent and only has a very small income. The price of the engagement ring certainly doesn't matter if you honestly love each other, but the ring should not only express my appreciation, but also be a small piece of security for my fiancée - for starters... Even if the ring cost 700 euros , that doesn't mean she likes the ring or says "yes"... ;-) 💫💞
@neohotroad1825
@neohotroad1825 8 месяцев назад
@@ajw9377 I understand that and I know the problem with jewelry, but a gold bar or gold coin just doesn't work as an engagement ring. However, I also think that the value of the jewelry doesn't play a big role. 299 pesos is about 5 euros here, but I don't even get a coffee or a meal for that. So is my (perhaps soon-to-be) fiancée really worth that little to me? Less than a cup of coffee? With an income of around 3,500 euros / 200,000 pesos, I wouldn't find that appropriate (for me). But when someone gives their last 300 pesos, it is a valuable gift. You understand what I mean...?.. 😉👍

If she helps pick it out, what is wrong with it? If she understands the household budget, then she will help choose wisely. If she has no regard for the financial situation and your future household, then you need to re-think this proposal. If she is not happy with this, then she could help out in the acquisition of this engagement ring because she has to be able to show this off to her friends. Should the bragging be about the ring, or the husband.

Roger & Ismi, I agree with you, but… A person can’t help how they feel. They may be materialistic, but if they are a materialistic person, they’re still not able to change their feelings about important things just by realizing that they are materialistic. Personally, I think that this Filipina in this situation should consider the entire picture, rather than just the cost of the ring. Is her fiancé rich or poor? Does he already have financial responsibilities that might make it difficult for him to save money for a ring? Is he a practical person or an irresponsible person who spends money needlessly on other things? Is he likely to be able to support you in your married life in a way that you will be happy with? What type of person is he, otherwise? Is he good to you? Is he romantic and loving? Do you think he will be a good and responsible husband and father? If the cost of the ring bothers you, I think you should ask him about it. First of all, if he lies about the cost, that should probably tell you that he’s not going to be a good husband. Regardless of his answer, though, if you feel hurt by the amount that he spent, you should tell him because trying to hide it from him would be almost the same as him lying to you about the cost. Honesty is important and I think he has a right to know what you expect from him. Nevertheless, if you love him and are able to accept him exactly as he is, I think you need to overlook the cost of the ring and look more closely at the depth of his love for you.

LOL If they complain about the ring they are gold diggers! Return the ring and get your 299 back! Don't forget to ghost her!

He should know his girlfriend. I don't believe in overly expensive engagement rings but it should reflect the person's wealth and the person's receiving. If you are both hippies then you know that simple inexpensive things are what your philosophy is about. If you are not wealthy do not spend more than your budget. What matters is the time and effort into making each other happy regardless of money

It is customary here that if the girl says yes, they go to the jeweler and have rings made. I was the same with my wife, it has many advantages. (The price is arbitrary and depends on the amount of gold, but there are no rings worth 60 dollars here in Europe.)

Ismi & Roger...the price of a ring like Ismi said is not as important as the gesture it is giving. Any woman that requires a very expensive ring is definitely a materialistic person. The thought behind the giving of an engagement or wedding ring is what should be important. I have a friend who spent so much money on his wedding that he was still paying it off 2 years later. All that money did not make the wedding any better. My wife and I worked together and we had all the wedding paid off before we got married. Ismi, you and Roger have a great outlook on life. I agree with Roger that it is NOT the amount you pay for something it is the thought behind it. If you want a more expensive ring than go and pay for it yourself. Even if you could afford to get a more expensive ring does not mean you should or have to. Much love from Canada

I’m guessing if you gave your wife a 6 dollar ring you would be still single haha. What you say is true but cheap is cheap bro.

@@ericsherman4181 Yes that is true. But they do not make what we make in terms of wages. Their is cheap and what you can afford. My wife's engagement, wedding and 1st anniversary ring cost $ 5,000.00. So far I have been with her for 36 years so I guess the rings were worth it. I agree she would have said NO if I got too cheap a one. But once again their customs and cost of living is totally different to ours. Peace and good will to you.

Are there many jewelry stores in the Philippines? What might be a suitable amount in pesos for an engagement ring?

There are normal jewelry stores just like the US or any other country in the malls. Gold is gold as far as pricing.

She's Pabebe, if you have money, that's fine, if you don't have the money, you must save as much as you can. The relationship is more important than a kilo of gold and gets a big debt in the years to come. That's eat pancit!😅

Sorry, but a 6 dollar ring is an embarrassment to the woman. Her finger will turn green. You can find a descent priced ring without breaking the bank, atleast it will be real gold even if the stone is not expensive. You can upgrade the ring after marriage. We bought a descent engagement ring, we both were worried it would get stolen….I told her she would get the nice ring once she gets to the US for her wedding ring. She is not the type person that thinks more expensive s better, but once we are married I want her to have a nice ring, nothing super expensive as I am not rich either. I can’t blame the woman, but also we don’t know what income this man has either. My 2 cents
