KT definitely deserved the 1st here. Navarro had the biggest line, but KT had creativity to find the piece that no one else hit and absolutely clean control and flow from start to finish.

I woke up to a freeride event playing after passing out on the couch watching RU-vid and man these events are so damn cool. They really bring a nice tranquil vibe that is much needed in winter sports. I enjoy riding park and watching people bust out an insane slopestyle run here and there. But it really has become spin to win and for as amazing as it is, I don't enjoy watching it for more than a run or two. A massive floaty tail grab backside 180 off a natural feature looks so much cooler to me than a 1080 off a perfectly manicured park jump. Again no hate at all for the insane slopestyle riders. But the emphasis isn't on style much anymore. The freeride runs really emphasize that kind of thing and I love it. With that said though, the knuckle huck is a blast to watch. If only there was a contest based around the entirety of the SHE, Side Hits Euphoria series tho. That would be perfection because those videos truly emphasize my favorite style of snowboarding. These freeride events get close tho.

Wadeck Gorak was the clear winner. Hard to compare Aymar's run but probably deserved 2nd. I love Turdell but his runs this year were a little higher than they should have been. Undisputed top 6 results though for Verbier.

Unfortunately the judges have neutered the FWT with awarding a back to flat as deserving a win. They cut the balls right off of the sport. Why would anyone ever try what Navarro did again just to lose to a windlip flip? Was this the day extreme skiing died?

Europeans, the Commonwealth, and some East Asian countries use the same strategy in real life.
