Nice content, a thing though: Hall effect switches are not 'faster' than opto-electrical switches (or mechanical switches for that matter but those have to be debounced). The wooting is an analog board, while this one is a digital one however you can easily build an analog board with any non-mechanical switch, the huntsman v2 e.g. is an anlog opto-electrical board. Also possible would be an anlog electro-capacitive board (similar to topre switches)
Yep... Optical the fastest 0.1-0.2ms hence an 8K polling can be used(though anything above 1k is useless on Keyboard) while Hall effect are on 0.5-1ms. The good old mechanical are 4ms, one of the reason so many custom PCB use 125-250hz polling is because mech are just slow
@@ameserich Well most custom boards, even 'budget' ones, are more likely to poll at 500Hz or 1kHz (my AL66 e.g. at 500Hz, an ND75 @1kHz). 125Hz is BT or the standard microsoft HDI. Actually the technique doesn't matter that much light as well as a magnetic field as well as an electric field moves with the speed of light. Th huntsman is the fastest board because of it's implementation (the MCU, the signal lenght, the code etc.)
