To be fair, this particular game was a nightmare to translate for fans. The best patch we have is much worse than what we see here. Sure, there's the localized remake (fantastic game btw), but it's not the original. the "limited run" thingie is Fire Emblem BS, though

@@Chad_Eldridge I read it from a news article from over a year ago about the game being localized where Nintendo officially confirmed it. They fear that certain sequences will not go well to American audiences without having to censor or rewrite them entirely. Nintendo also said that the game would not sell well because the only people who would buy it are fans who demanded its release.

"Available for a limited time" What on earth do you guys have to gain by making it arbitrarily unavailable to someone who would totally love to give you money for this game but after the day that you boneheads say we can? Your most dedicated fans already preorder all of the major things or otherwise purchase them soon after release, you don't need to create artificial urgency. I hope this tactic loses you a lot of money, or better yet, you back off on it and just let this stuff remain available when it's more profitable that way anyway. I'm fairly certain leaving this game available on the eshop costs you guys absolutely nothing but maybe a gigabyte of storage space on a server somewhere. tl;dr, Nintendo, just stop it.

I had to ask a friend with a Switch to put my account on it, only so I could by the game. The limited availability wouldn't be a problem per se (even if it's a questionable practice) if Nintendo would simply allow you to buy games without owning the console. You can buy digital games on PlayStation and Xbox just fine and have them ready on your account when you get the console. Why Nintendo doesn't let you do that is beyond me.

They already did a remake back in 2008 for the Nintendo DS actually, and it was officially released in North America. This is actually how a lot of people played the first game for the first time. Here, Nintendo has simply localised the original Family Computer/Nintendo Entertainment System release. *Edit:* Oh wait, never mind! I didn't notice you were referring to _The Binding Blade_

My first was GBA Fire Emblem.I fell in love with the storytelling as well as the music. How the Music has evolved up to this point in Fire Emblem 3 Houses was truly breathtaking. I am excited to see this happening. Not just to see the evolution of Gameplay but to see where the Music started from as well. 30 years of Fire Emblem. Astonishing.....Hopefully....we can get the original anime????

I'm really interested in hearing the backstory of that girl from the skit at the beginning. Why does she know so much about Fire Emblem, and is surprised that her friend doesn't? Is she a transfer student from Japan who moved to America during the N64 era, and assumed the five Fire Emblem games she played back home got localizations she just hadn't met anyone who owned yet? And why is she using localized names that didn't exist back in 2001? She would have been calling Caeda "Shiida," and probably would have been tangled up in online debates as to whether the dragon girl is named "Tiki" or "Chiki."
