A FIRST LOOK AT NJ TRANSIT ACADEMY'S NEW BUSES 17121 AND 17122 

I wonder why NJT switched to the USSC LX driver seat. Both SEPTA and WMATA are having to replace them as early as 2 years of age. And GRTC switched to them but switched back to Recaro.

They are in service, saw 122 leaving the port last night at 810 to lakewood. Steal rims still intact.

Those are the First 2 in that style for this year, 2017. However, Academy took possession of the new units well before any other carriers did. Not only because we're their biggest contractor, followed by Coach USA. But they took units 17001 thru 17120 last year (2016), right around mid fall. We also took delivery on two new D4500 (CRUISER SERIES) buses 8951 and 8952. But HOLLY HELL did we have so many problems with them. They (8951 & 52) saw more shop time than road time. smh Someone asked if the coaches are outfitted for a "Blast Package". Yes the new buses are all equipment with seat belts now. At one point it was optional and was usually found on the first 8 seats (the first two rows) also they were only lap belts. Later the became standard once they figured out how to reinforce the floor to accommodate the sat belts. But people still won't wear them.

I like the Blue and White Academy buses the grey is ok

I've seen those buses in Atlantic City for the teachers convention from the casinos to the Atlantic City rail terminal and convention center this weekend it was in November 7th through the 11 on the weekend

Academy bus tours were blue navy blue and light blue back then they're switching to gray to appeal the customers this year the academy bus lines turning 49 years old for a bus company from Hoboken nj buys their own buses and uses nj transit buses I've can't wait to see those buses coming to Atlantic City do they have a Cummins ISX12 engines with the WB 500 R gen V Allison automatic transmissions too
