I looked at this bag yesterday in the shop because my 2016 Mule is getting a bit old now. I was sorely disappointed. It really seems like a big downgrade in a lot of ways.
I've got a MULE Pro and it's good BUT the mouthpiece and straw/tube NEVER EVER stays in place as the magnet is way too weak. The chest strap is too short - unless you have a small chest - a 43" chest is too large to do the top strap up. Good pack but you really need to re route the drink hose/straw/tube. Room enough for lots of kit but the connection clips/buckles need to be inserted carefully or you'll forever be miss clipping it and then trying to get it apart. NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO JUSTIFY THE PRICE NB The sounds quality in the studio is bloody awful.
A hack you can do with those mouthpieces is use one of those retractable ID card reel/spoil holders. The circle looking things that when you let go, it will recoil itself up. You hook the mouthpiece onto it, and attack the reel to one of the should straps, and it’ll hold it in place a little better.
They're designed for cyclists but double up ok for hikes now and then. If hiking is your main thing, they do some packs specifically designed for hiking.
