Gary is one of the USA's Best Goldfish breeders. He has one heck of a fish room and was kind enough to give us a nice fish room tour. Gary even shares his secrets to breed 1,000's of goldfish here in Ohio. With strains from around the world, Gary is know for some extremely rare goldfish lines. He has an interesting way of keeping and breeding so you do not want to miss this one!

Gary has been one of the most prolific and knowledgeable goldfish breeders in North America for decades. He has also helped hundreds of hobbyists with advice and fish. Many of the top hobbyists consider him a mentor. Truly one of a kind.

Goldfish is simply a different experience as far as fish keeping goes. the highlight is the fact that each individual fish feels so unique, and how they become impressive as they grow. in that sense, any healthy thriving goldfish, no matter the quality/gride, becomes a wonder. then the next level is breeding, because with them having so much genetic material (4n organism), you often get suprises in the offspring. As a teenager i ditched goldfish for tropicals, and now In my later years i switched back to exploring goldfish, and only keep "cool water" tropicals

GoldfishRescueofWisconsin we stayed down in the US for 4 days past the guaranteed delivery date and it was 3 days after that that they finally arrived.

April Showers ‘fraid not. Some were alive when the package finally made it back to Gary, but not many. Erica (my wife) was really torn up about it. Even the post office people in Montana were frantic trying to help and saying they just don’t lose packages anymore, but we drew the short straw.

@@LupDiesel I have had my goldfish going on 2 years now & they just decided to spawn but I don't have a setup for the eggs but HOPEFULLY next year if all goes right I'll have that set up. I really enjoyed how he has everything going & set up, if I had a place where I had the right place that I could just have a few decent size ponds like the boxed 1's he has I'd be happy.

The key to thwarting raccoons is hitting 24in. in depth. Raccoons will not fish when they cannot touch bottom. Two feet seems to be the magic number. In the past, I've lost fish to herons, broad banded water snakes, and once to a curious bobcat, but I've never lost fish to a raccoon in a pool or tub that was 24 inches or more. :-) Gary explains why his ranchus are kept in shallow tubs, so there's not much you can do about that!
