Plot twist: there's no such a thing as "Apple's Flexible screens". There's Samsung's flexible screens and Apple will use screens from Samsung with Foldable technology to use on their foldable phone

Fold is amazing tbh. It just needs perfecting. You can only go so far with a bending oled design (which samsung also pioneered) Samsung has drastically improved the crease mark with every iteration (even utilizing the punchhole camera within a folding display, something tahat competitors were not able to do too), something that no other company can do, and Ice Universe, a reputable insider, revealed that the upcoming Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 would have a near non-existent crease. I would wait things out because a lot of people said the same thing about the Galaxy Note when it came out, and it ended up one of the most successful product lines by a company. The technology that Samsung uses is maturing and the sales figures also reflect it because the Z Fold 2 and Z Flip broke records when they were released. I expect the same thing with the upcoming Z Fold and Flip.

@@이순신-m3h nah, it's a stupid gimmick that will vanish again until they realize that they will never really get it out of the prototype phase. Phone screens need to be sturdy to withold some scratching, especially from being shoved in and out of pockets alot. They should also not break everytime they are accidentally dropped - and that just will happen at some point. Yeah - if you don't use it it will probably hold up a long while but uhm. Yeah. I don't see an application in flexible phone screens. It's cool - but not very useful. It's a "hey we can do this thing" thing - not something that really has future. Maybe it will have an application in something else - like laptops I could see it being useful in there. But not for a phone that is dragged around anywhere the person goes.

Yeah. And i tought that you could try using the iphone digitizer (if its flexable) and solder it for a touch screen.

The point is to carry a screen size of your choice but in much less space, alot of people including me have a lot of trouble just carrying a phone in a pocket. If i could afford one then I would definitely like to own a Z flip.

@@NanoMine i also don’t like big phones. 4.7/5” inches is the biggest size I want on a phone. And a tablet needs to be around 10” at least to be usefull. And there’s no way you could fold a 10” screen into a pocket size phone. That’s why I think that foldable phones are the worst solution. Too big for a phone a to small for a tablet.
