At age 15, on a Good Friday, Sunita R.’s foster mother told her that she had a family and, should anything happen to her foster mother, she must return to her biological parents. She discovered that when she was 9 months old, her father’s best friend persuaded him to wager on her at a gambling game. Her father lost at the game, and she was taken away from her parents. After learning the truth, feelings of abandonment and hatred gripped her heart. Once united with her biological parents, she struggled to adjust to and accept her big family of eight. A miraculous encounter with Jesus at a retreat made her realize that God was with her all her life, protecting and guiding her toward Him.
