Keeping it truly real and nothing to do with sales and marketing. This is an honest video what almost all people go through that havent done this before. Staying away from this Frame Camper. I cant belive no one has sued them for this design because someone or more than one person could easily get injured pretty badly

You're welcome! I think it's helpful to record it. A lot of the set ups have many steps and it's a lot of information to take in. If you write down set by step, it can be helpful but in my opinion it's better to see it done. It will make more sense.

I have one of these for a few years now. I knew exactly where you were making the errors first try setting up. Here’s a tip, it is helpful to help the lift motor a bit by pushing up on the handle on the back roof section. Speeds up and saves wear and tear on the motor. The lift motor is a weak point and I have gone through 3. The third one had an engineering change adding a rubber boot around the motor. Hopefully that will keep water from running down the street into the motor and rusting it out. After you unlatch the front dormer, you can push it up from the inside. The center latch has the hasp for a padlock because you only need to have one to secure the dormer. Likewise, the two roof latches on the sides only one has a hasp for a lock. Overall, I’m very happy with the trailer. It towes super easy with a small SUV with a 3500 pound rating.

Thank you. I feel like this is the perfect trailer for me. It's interesting that there are so many variations within the A frames, even from the same brand. You have to get the same exact model, even if it's off by a couple of numbers, you might not have a bathroom or dining room table lol. So I carefully researched it for a couple of months.

@Huntress308
@Huntress308 Год назад
Well, that's a good question, but honestly I don't think it's a lot of tear and wear. They have been making pop up trailer for over 30-40 years (tent trailers and this kind) and I think they hold up pretty well. The bathroom walls, I can see that having an issue, but I will reinforce them with additional latches and it will work. My hose can be remade though (not hard for a someone who has some basic carpentry skills) or reordered. 😊 I never ever had blue nails, I thought might as well play around lol.

You should give the weights of campers so people know it their vehicle will tow ,and measurements for storage related reasons cheers!
@Huntress308
@Huntress308 9 месяцев назад
I didn't do that because someone can easily Google it, but most importantly, the different models will have different measurements and the weight will differ as well. Some can be close 1000 lb lighter than this one

@Huntress308
@Huntress308 Год назад
I have to go and measure but I would think it's much higher than 6' there. That's the part where you open up the second roof, so it's horizontal, not slanted. Not sure if it would be 6'"4, but probably very close to it. I know that doesn't really help, so give me some time and I'll go take a look

I am purchasing a one-owner used 2021 of this model. Would you recommend the 4 year extended warranty for a newbie camper? I'm debating if I want to add this cost or just keep money to the side for repair costs like that bubble window that's going to eventually leak or God forbid, an issue with the AC.
@Huntress308
@Huntress308 6 месяцев назад
It depends. How much would it cost for the 4 years altogether? And what would it include with deductible? For example if your fridge or furnace or water heater breaks, would they replace it and would it cost you anything else?
@youtubestolemyname
@youtubestolemyname 6 месяцев назад
@@Huntress308 it would add $2,400 to the price, $50 deductible, everything about the RV and appliances including roadside assistance covered (allegedly). Everything except weather damage. Sounds good, but I don't want to shell out the money to find out they are full of crap and come up with random bs to not cover repairs. Maybe I should just set the money to the side since I have trust issues. 😅
@Huntress308
@Huntress308 6 месяцев назад
@@youtubestolemyname here's my opinion. You're purchasing a 2021, that's pretty new. The appliances are supposed to be certified for 10 years, meaning they're supposed to work at least for that time. Sure, some can break before but I have also seen many 20-30 year old rvs with the original working fridge or furnace, etc. your main appliances are gonna be the fridge, furnace and AC and these will cost about $1600 each to replace. Repair is cheaper. The water pump is a couple of hundred dollar and the toilet is not much either. So in my opinion might as well keep the $2400 for anything that comes up in the future. Other things that can go wrong is leaks, etc but they're easy to repair, I just did it in my roof, and will reseal the entire roof because there's a second small leak. Also you said weather damage will not be included. You can get roadside assistance from insurance. If have paid for full coverage insurance which includes it getting stolen or if there is an accident and it gets damaged. You can have towing added as well as staying in a hotel if far away etc and the insurance will still only cost maybe $300, give or take. Totally worth it If it was let's say 10 years old I would consider getting it. Mine is a 2014 and will be 10 years old but I probably would not have purchased the warranty lol

I just bought this exact camper for $11,000 off of retail price. Ur experience with the tent type camper is exactly what I avoided. I wanted a hard side because I plan to camp in remote bear country. A tent camper is dangerous there, plus they fall apart in 3 yrs
@Huntress308
@Huntress308 2 месяца назад
Yes, I'm so happy with this. It's more expensive but it's perfect, in my opinion. And safe from animals, and the weather. Although a bear just ripped off the storage door , but that was at my house lol

@@Huntress308 yes Mam, a bear can rip through these campers ,but they literally bite people through side because of,,,,,,,,, Believe it or not,,,, the fruit fragrance soaps ATTRACT BEARS. People wash their hair in APPLE, CHERRY, and So on. The bears bite their head through the tent to EAT The fruit. Simple Math.

@@jackychandler8594 that's crazy but true. My problem was that the side storage door was open, so he swung it back and forth and he finally got mad and pulled it off. Opened the front storage and went through everything and ate a bunch of gummy bears and graham crackers.

Thanks for your review.. Considering one of these - upgrading from tent camping and sleeping on the ground.. Do you mind my asking how tall you and your friend are? Wondering about the bed as we are used to a king and my partner is 6'3 and I am 5'7 . So are you head to toe right at the walls? - and does it feel cramped on the inside against the sloped roof? Thanks.
@Huntress308
@Huntress308 Год назад
You will love this! I'm camping right now in Utah, it's been 2 weeks and totally love it. I'm 5'8" and the bed is plenty. For someone 6'3" it would still be ok. There's one foot left for me from the wall. I'm by myself so I have the whole bed to myself. If it were 2 people, it might feel cramped for the one that's on the inside. It depends on the person. The best thing to do is go to a dealer that has one of these and ask to lay on the bed

@@Huntress308 Thanks for the update! Sounds like you get to enjoy the outdoors quite a bit! What attracts me most about this may be the weight and compactness that means I cd manage it by myself for some solo trips and not need to buy a new truck! Enjoy.

The bed is a Queen Size running cross-wise at the back. If the person at the back needs to get up, they do have to climb over the other person. Weakest bladder to the front! 😉

@Huntress308 >>> Maybe I missed this detail in the video, but what specifically do you prefer about the A-frame camper over the pop-up camper? You mentioned having a pop-up but later selling it.
@Huntress308
@Huntress308 Год назад
Omg, so many things. It was so much work just setting up the tent trailer. Manually raise the roof (with a manual winch, it was hard), stabilize them, pull out both beds, put up all the bars under neath. Then push out the canvas. Then raise up the sink (it's folded down in transit), and only then you can start putting everything away because there are very few and small cabinets. All this is 45-60 minutes. The A frame camper? 15 minutes. I can't even sleep in my tent trailer unless I unhook it from the truck. Right now I'm in Sedona and spent the night at a truck top on the way here. I didn't have to unhook the trailer and took me 15 minutes to set it up, which also included the bathroom walls. Tent trailer has no bathroom walls and that was weird. The canvas was 20 years old and discolored, thin as paper, just nasty and I can't sleep like that. It's $950 to replace it and there was a 5 month wait list. I was on 3 month when I sold it. I could go on and on. The reason I didn't go into it in the video is because I'm going to make a video comparing these two

Biggest advantage is it is hard sided, not canvas. So more secure, warmer, the same as a regular trailer. In Canada some campgrounds in bear county have different rules for pop ups because they are no barrier to bears. Things like no food inside etc. which don’t apply to these A-Frames. Can put up and take down in the rain and don’t have to put back up to dry out the canvas later.

Myconcern is can a bear take that apart.
@Huntress308
@Huntress308 18 дней назад
If he really wanted to, he can take apart this, or a regular travel trailer or a car. The key is not to leave food in there. Obviously when you're camping you're going to have food, in 8 years I have never had a problem. I only had a problem twice at my house 😆
