Thank u for the vid homie, I’ve always “learned by doing” best and most of the tutorials are just walkthroughs, really appreciate the style of just “pointing us down the right path”, big ups 🙏

Thank you! I certainly plan to continue making educational content in this arena. My other focus is showcasing the broader world of baseball and the immense flexibility of OOTP beyond standard MLB saves. Some of those have mini-tutorials built in as well.

You’re welcome! There have been a ton of people streaming on Twitch the last few days. I’m enjoying my save so far as well.

I have about 6 weeks of play time in OOTP 22 (I haven't bought any of the newer one's just yet). I could use some guidance on Franchise Hockey Manager, have you considered playing it?

Not really a hockey guy, sorry! I play Football Manager a bit and Tennis Manager looks interesting too.

I play Baseball mogul. You don't need a tutorial to play. 20 minutes I picked the 76 Reds against the modern schedule. Sort of a " What if "

That makes sense. The sentiment among players who have done both is that OOTP goes much deeper, which makes it more complex. The complexity creates a steeper learning curve which generates demand for tutorials.

I am not criticizing you. If I am going spend that much time to play a game. Well I can think of more constructive things to do. Again to each their own. I like to play what if.

@victormarrotti2575 Understood, I wasn’t taking it that way. I think gamers are generally willing to invest more time up front if they envision spending a lot of time playing the game. The variety of things you can do with OOTP is so extensive that, in my opinion, the up front investment is worth it.

Curious as to why you didn't mention RU-vid as a resource. Excellent intro video otherwise!

Hi there! I covered RU-vid in the third section at 5:25.

I bought the game because I wanted to play historical seasons. Steam directed me to GO, which sucks. There are no instructions, and if you don’t want to bother with the manager crap and just play games, you’re out of luck. The seasons I bought wouldn’t transfer across platforms. The games I tried to play were dull and not conducive to the seasons I chose because the players aren’t personalized and are all far away. The strategy is fairly minimal. Every tutorial I’ve watched for the “real” game, the one that’s NOT GO, is not basic enough to guide novice players with logical steps. The presenters are nice guys, but they pile on too much information that I frankly don’t need.

Hi Michael. I'm not a huge fan of GO either. It's nice to check on Perfect Team while I'm traveling, but I can't imagine enjoying a full save on it. I agree with your point about tutorials diving into too many things too quickly. That's part of the reason I recommend leaning on tutorials as a supplement as opposed to your only/primary means of education. My bet is observing a Twitch stream while playing your game alongside (ideally using two screens) would help you a lot. You can throw a question in their chat too if you'd like. ezradenney is one I'd recommend that manages games and he mostly streams his historical save. Here's a recorded stream from a few days ago (link will only be good for a few weeks). www.twitch.tv/videos/2095939862?t=1h10m4s. Start around the 1:10:00 mark which is where he's planning out his next couple of games in advance of playing. He generally does a nice job of going slow and explaining his thought process while making decisions. Hope this helps! Shoutout @ezradenney8148.

This might be the most useless OOTP instructional video I’ve ever seen.

I’m sorry to hear that you found it to be less than helpful. If you have any specific suggestions or topics you’d like to see covered, I’d love to hear them and consider for future videos.
