First time performing in front of such a huge amount of audience. Lots of mistakes made. I did not regret it though... Song: Unravel - Tokyo Ghoul opening 1 #music #anime #guitar
I like how they actually let him play and didn't interrupt him constantly his claps and cheers, also you could tell everyone liked it to at the end when he finished
@@enyoudee6179 ah yes, playing an incredibly difficult song on an instrument it wasn't written to be played on is "entry level". Go jump off a refrigerator you internet troll bastard
As a guitarist myself, I can confidently say that 90% of the people at *least* in that crowd have no idea how hard it is to do that. That shit was mad Impressive dude.
@@raflystiansahlatif5293 I've been playing a year as well, and have been told to progress quickly, but he made me feel like a newbie, and I'm a two whole years older than he was when he did this. Huge respect to this kid.
I don't get why the comments are acting like the crowd didn't appreciate his talent? It's a guitar solo, no one is going to yell or clap in the middle of it because that would just be rude... he got a well deserved applause at the end
You’re right! It’s because people try to farm likes on RU-vid these days. You see it in every video now. People literally sit there and think “what comment can I make that will get me the most likes” and press send.
@selenite if i were the guy i would be mad if they clapped in the middle of the song like wtf?? it's not a rock song played with electroc guitar and a battery lol
It feels like his confidence grows through the song.. like initially he was making a few mistakes and then he activates god mode xD. Don't get me wrong. I don't mean to criticise. This song is hella difficult to play
Animenz is just cracked i can only play very select few if his arrangements... he is a God. Also God damn you play unravel so well, mine doesn't sound anywhere this good yet haha, you're amazing bro keep it up
I feel like alot of people don't realize this, but when you see someone playing something hard in front of a crowd its only like half of their actual skill. in my room I'd say I'm a pretty good guitar player but in front of even 1 or 2 people I literally lose half of my skill.
I think it's more that they play easier songs for them to avoid making too many mistakes in a public performance. But when they're all by themselves they can play harder songs without having to worry about making mistakes.
Nah, I’m better in concerts than when practicing. It’s like adrenaline gives me a skill boost, or thinking of the people listening gives me strength. Except when I’m playing for a couple of friends, then it’s somehow worse lol
Its pretty common etiquette to not clap before the performance is done in orchestra. I know hearing an anime song you know might make you wanna scream, but the crowd was actually very respectful to his playing and I'm sure it was appreciated. You can hear it at the end.
It's common with most music performances, bands (school bands I mean) choirs, and orchestras unless there is a cool solo or something in the middle ( guitar solo for a song in choir) you don't clap until they are done and the conductor shows the song is over
Is nobody gonna talk about how cute his little fist pump was at the end? He was like “aw hell yeah I killed it” and he fucking did bro, that was beautiful
That wasn't a fist pump though lol it's sort of a habit guitar players have when they end their songs to do that with their arms on the last note you see it all the time if you actually watch anyone play a guitar
The fact that comments say "I wouldve yelled screaming hyping the man up" nah bro, just stay silent and admire the talent. You don't need to show your appreciation by being loud during a performance, it just ruins the whole setting if everyone was loud and screaming. A good performer cascades his audience in silence, and this guy nailed it. I'm 200% sure a good majority of the crowd knows what tokyo ghoul is. Good job to the performer, and respect to the crowd.
In America, loud, standing ovations are expected as opposed to japan, where the greatest honor would be complete silence. In an interview, George Lucas attended the premiere of "A New Hope" in japan and after the movie no one said a thing and he thought it had flopped and no one liked it, only to be told the culture shock later on.
@@Spoopball I mean even in America, in music settings, usually they ask you to leave you applause until the end or after solos. Its extremely impolite to clap or make noise during a performance because it interrupts and can distract musicians and cause them to mess up. Speaking as an orchestra musician.
@@Spoopball Unless it’s a concert of a well known artist I don’t see many people screaming their lungs out. I expect people to be more quiet when listening to instrument solos. I’m from the U.S. by the way.
@@nodrvgs Honestly I’ve stopped practicing and just pick my Ukulele (My guitar broke) up every now and then to play basic pop songs. I’m stuck at the chords and basic fingerpicking stage 😅
@@perfectingaverage1456 you don't have to be a weeb to admire it like I don't usually listen to k-pop but someone played it on the guitar I would be impressed
"Lots of mistakes made." Man, I only noticed one time you skipped a note and even then, to be honest, you're doing something so amazing I'm impressed you didn't screw up more! Kudos to you. Keep it up!
Think he was talking about tempo mistakes like not playing certain notes fast enough. I noticed a few but people who don't practice an instrument won't really notice at all so major props to him
The fingering all by itself doesn't seem very hard, but playing clean with that percussive slap definitely adds a lot more difficulty. If you remove the capo then it would undoubtedly be a way more complex arrangement.
Might be wrong because I dont know anything about guitars but itd possible that coulf be a classical guitar with an amp. Im a violinist tho so I know absolutely nothing about those....fretted...instruments
I'm thankful no one interrupted the performance with screaming and clapping because I enjoyed every second of it! clapped in front of my pc once the performance ended!
@@ErickOnEverything that's insaaaane gjxjtrusrus I'm learning guitar now, and I can only do it looking at a music sheet. I guess your memory improves over time
@@x.kimchi_5664 What in the world? Most American schools u can do whatever as long as it’s school appropriate. Unless u go to private schools then that’s a different story.
As in natural harmonics or artificial harmonics? It’s very easy to do natural harmonics with pinky and artificial harmonics are on a whole another level. Also if u were talking about using his right pinky, I don’t think it’s possible. left pinky is definitely possible thou.
U shouldn't call it talent that's too disrespectful he actually put time and effort at this and u call it talent as if the hard work wasn't there no flame btw
@@Chop_stiX if we're being particular about semantics, I should prolly have said 'skill' instead of 'talent' but I do believe natural talent alone will not amount to anything substantial if one doesn't put in time and effort to polish it. A naturally talented person may require a little less hard work than others but they need to put in work all the same, so when I complimented this person's talent I didn't mean it in a "wow you were born talented, it must be nice" way but rather "you have really worked for this" way.
As a guitarist, I can confirm I spent a week trying to learn this for 3 hours a day and only got the first 4 bars consistently. The rest was at half speed and only half accurate. This lad is insane
This school hasn't got anyone who's watched Tokyo Ghoul. I woulda screamed at those first few licks. Man, you're absolutely awesome. Keep it up. You'll make it big. In 5-6 years, this will be suggested due to youtube algorithms and gonna hit 1M views or more XD.
Any noises would ruin the performance. It's a guitar solo. I'm sure there are weebs there. They are just being respectful enough to let the dude perform smoothly
Was about to say "excellent playing, but maybe a bit too fast" when I realised I was on 1.25 speed lmaooo Turned it back to normal and, damn, phenomenal playing
It took me two years to play unravel perfectly on piano that song is crazy hard to learn great job and to have the guts to play it in front of your school
As a fellow guitarist, this is just... wow... insanely impressive. I know at least 95% of those people have no idea how difficult it is to perform fingerstyle patterns such as the ones in this performance. Standing ovation 👏👏👏
I've never seen Tokyo Ghoul, heard this song, or watched anything related to Tokyo Ghoul on youtube, and not really anything anime-related at all. Why am I being recommended this video over and over and over
I'd argue that that's not really true, if by play you mean sing, then they're probably not guitarists, they're singers, and if they sing bad I don't think people would really give too much attention either. Besides, there are so many famous guitarists in RU-vid, they play beautifully, look at Alip Bata, Tommy Emmanuel, Paul Davids, Sungha Jung, and many many more. I think singing and solo instrumentals like this should be separated, it's extremely rare to play an arrangement and sing at the same time.
Unravel is not just a song it's our feeling and you play very good I am singing at that time when you are playing and I sing whole song with your guitar tune 😊
I didn’t like this song when I first listened to it and then I watched the anime and this song has become one of my favorites. It just sounds so good and I feel like it fits perfectly with the show
