Wow I'm so excited. I just purchased the 2016.5 GT fully loaded with the tech package in the beautiful Soul RED. The dealership had to locate the red from another location so I can't wait to pick it up Monday. Great review 👍
This is hands down the best video there is for someone who would like to get to know the CX-5. Is there a chance you could do one for the sport and touring model so we can compare? I would really appreciate that!
I just bought a Mazda 3, I figure since I'm a new driver, a compact would be ideal for me. But the cx-5 is absolutely breathtaking!! I want that white leather interior SO so badly (mine has black cloth). I also went with the Mica Blue Crystal. Anyway, your review is PERFECT!! Really considering trading my 3 in for this or the cx-9 in the future!
Awesome, it really is a great vehicle! Don't even take my word for it. Google 2016 CX-5 reviews, look up reviews on here, check a automotive magazine, they all rate this car extremely high! It really makes my job in sales a lot easier! :) The best part though is definitely the way it drives! Will blow you away!
Just got this car to replace my old truck. I just have one statement on your nitrogen charge. Can we just call it a $100 tire insurance? Tires are always filled with nitrogen. The atmosphere of earth is 78% nitrogen naturally. Don't try to sell me air as some sort of fancy air lol. Other than that great video. As a CX-5 owner from Iowa I can say that so far I am loving it.
ten jay I'm picking mine up from the dealership tomorrow, by far the most fun test drive I had while car shopping this go around. I cross shopped it with the BMW X1, and it was a no brainier to go with the Mazda tbh
Great review, went to a showroom today in England as I'm after the sport nav version that you have just reviewed. I've only taken the SeL version out on a test drive just to get a feel for it. It was the 2.2L D with 150bhp but it did have a bit if poke in it and was better to drive than the Honda crv I test drove the day before. It more fun to drive but the handling was better but was still well equipped with some nice trim though I wished they'd imported the trim from the cx3 model which looks far better in my opinion. I'd definitely go for this colour option, has quite a lot of good feedback compared to its Suv rivals, so I'm definitely considering one.
Thank you! Being in England your trim levels are actually a bit different. Your sport is a higher level trim. It is opposite for us here in the states. You also can purchase the diesel, an option I wish we had here. We don't allow it because of our strict emission standards. They are very meaty when it comes to torque. That is why it feels very quick with only 150BHP. :) Great, great car! They are very cost friendly when it comes to ownership maintenance as well.
nice ride...I ll definitely buy this next car the 2 tone interior color are awesome.. the exterior i ll prefer some white. but nice vehicle. thanks man
Didn't read all the replies and I'm sure it's already been mentioned, but $250 for wheel locks? $250 for edge guards? Oh, and my favorite..$99.00 for nitrogen? (We're all breathing some expensive stuff!), Remind me to never shop Autonation Ft Worth (yes, I live in NW Ft Worth) Nice overview of the car though.
Hi, Can you clarify what you say at 3:56 seconds when you are talking about the CTA (cross traffic alert). You mentioned that it will it will beep if a car passes behind you and will go ahead and break for you? I researched this a bit and can't seem to find the part about the "breaking" and wondered if you made a mistake since i have the 2016 model and i get the alert but it doesn't break.
Bruh Mazda like a elementary school kid with them "and a half" ages 😂 The dark tan metallic/ titanium color is the toughest. The parchment leather looks great, but I'm afraid to get it bc I wear dark denim and my girl is brown skinned which means brown makeup dust everywhere. I just got back from the dealership too, and I need to make a decision whether I'm going with black or parchment. Fully loaded, totally optioned out too, and it's way more fun to drive than a lot of crossovers. It was gonna be this or a BMW X1, and this actually blew it out of the water an caught me off guard!
Hi. I still wonder how different the cx-5 is in USA and Germany. We have 4 trim levels. Prime, Center, Exclusive and Sport. The "sports line" is the highest one. The 2,5 l petrol engine has not 184 hp like yours in the USA. Our version produce 192 hp. Also some options, or combinations, are not possible in the lower trim levels. It seems you have more possibilities to chose from. Anyway. I call it my own and i'm very satisfied :) Greetings o/
+Forrest Jones especially here in Phoenix! the AC in my 2015 mazda3 takes a while to get cold tho thats why im relly hoping for ventilated seats in da coming years.
Damn I want this car. I do have kids so the white leather worries me but I'm hoping they can learn to be a bit more careful. Thanks for the great detailed review
Honestly, Mazda has great design language. It just needs a halo car on par with the Nissan GT-R. Not a Mazda Miata adaptation, as much fun as those are to drive. I died a little the day I saw the Mazda Furai burn to ashes on the track.
It is very easy to clean. The honest truth is that if you have children or are kind of messy you will find yourself cleaning it somewhat often. If you can manage it properly it is very pleasing the have in your car! It looks great in person too! :)
The best way to clean it is with non-greasy formula leather cleaner or you can simply damp a sponge with clean water and do it that way! As for the awd, our company test these cars in the Mazda ICE academy so driving on ice is actually one of the strong points of this AWD system! Check out some of the AWD videos in the links! :)
I have had one for 3 months. It is an ok car, but not perfect. Lots of wind noise at interstate speed, lots of tire noise at all speeds. Sound system is average. Plenty of power, and brakes are amazing. Also is a very good looking car for sure. My navigation system has not worked since I bought it, but hopefully that can be corrected. Remains to be seen. I definitely would consider this car if I had it to do over again.
I definitely would trade out the tires. Only because I am not a huge Yokohama or Toyo fan and those are the only two brands of tires we use on the CX-5. Michelin, Dunlop, Goodyear, and Pirelli are great tires to keep the handling and performance feel of the Mazda while still reducing wind noise! As for the navigation what is it that is not working correctly?
Won't pick up any satellite signals at all. Programs fine, but won't start navigating. I have an appt. this morning to take it in to be checked. Tire noise is terrible, but there is wind noise by side windows, caused by mirrors or gap in A-pillar, it seems. Thanks for the heads up on the tires!
By the way, all of the above mentioned tires come in a lot of different series. Mine is 2016.5 Touring FWD with the 17" Yokohama tires. I do like the car well enough to upgrade the tires, but I have to get the best for this car that I can on the first try. Thanks again!!
Just tech no IACTIV sense. Iactiv sense is easily spotted by looking at the front Mazda emblem. If it is glossed over it has tech. Also there will be an addition of radar cruise control on the steering wheel. :)
I just bought this car...but I opted for cloth seats and put nice seat covers on for my every day ride. I love 💕 my 2016.5 Touring CX 5 this is my second Mazda I had a 6 before and I loved it ...This was a no brainer as a purchase. I didn’t even look at anything else in its class . It’s fun to drive and it can haul all my stuff for my catering business. It didn’t have the Navigation but thanks to Amazon I now do . You can beat the dealer buy going to Amazon and purchasing the Memory card for your CX 5 $100 bucks and it’s done ✅I like the safety features but the stereo sucks I will have to upgrade it after the warranty is out . Over all cool 😎 car 🚙
