A GAP and C GAP POWER in The Surface to Air System 

Our Double Team takes the defender to the Backside Linebacker to clear out the Playside A Gap for the pulling Guard.

I can tell you why. The lateral combo has the PS OT knocking the 3 tech into PS A gap where the guard can now rake him into backside A gap, while the OT stays on a track to BS LB. The post block of the PS G puts tension on the 3 tech and now exposing the hip of the 3 tech to the PS OT who is skating thru 3 tech. OT technique is inside hand on the breast plate, outside hand on the hip or fat of the back, head behind the DT, and shoulder under the DT pads. I've coached this for the last 4 years and the 3 tech will often end up in BS C gap because of the lateral combo of PS G and PS OT is overwhelming.
