I can't express how happy I am to see you active here. I just want to remind you that despite the overwhelming positive reaction you'll receive, please don't feel any pressure to continue making videos if it stresses you. I'm so happy you're back ❤
Would you ever make a themed terrarium? For example, I myself make apocalypse themed ones where I allow an unpainted, untreated, wooden structure, often a model house, to slowly decay over time and rot away. The woodlice love hanging out in the wooden structure.
Might not be as worth as it sounds to me, nor worth the effort, but you could try to see what sort of freshwater life you could get to adapt to water with higher salt concentrations. Awesome to see you back. Congrats on the bachelor's degree!!
I knew you would become a great biologist! Thanks for sharing your fascination with the little lives that grow in jars, things most people don't even know exist! A brilliant future ahead for you dear boy!
Congratulations on finishing your bachelor's degree! That is really impressive. I started building closed terrariums partly because of you and your wonderful videos. Me and my terrariums are very happy you are back!
Congratulations! Im so happy for you!🎉 It's nice to see you! Just do what you can, when you can! Most of us will be here rooting for you! I'm happy with whatever content you create. Your videos are always so fun and interesting, and my kids and I learn a lot.
Oh my dude! So happy to see you again. Thanks to you I have jars everywhere and I found @fatherfish because of you! My new aquarium is a work in progress with pond plants and the occasional bug I bring home for dinner. BUT….I don’t want to talk about my poor substrate!!! I didn’t know 😖😖. Congratulations on your BSc and enjoy some much deserved rest and I can’t wait for you to lay some knowledge on us 🤗
It's been very nice over the years to watch you grow into a young adult pursuing your passion with education. Congrats on the degree! A gap year is smart, let your spirit and brain rest they'll love you for it! I personally find all your jars fascinating and you're very good about giving updates on them after time has passed. I have no particular one I'd like an update on, I'll just enjoy the ones you present though some of the older ones I'm very curious about! Enjoy the Autumn and your Nature walks!!
Hey, you inspired me to make a closed ecosystem of my own and it's been closed and thriving for 2 years!!! I'm so happy to see that you're back and I can't wait to see whatever comes next!!
Well ive been watching you for a long while and have learned a lot Never knew you were young and a college student , i love your content and i myself have 13 aquariums, 6 terrariums and my mom and I are going out with nice glass to collect specimens in my area for eco systems!❤
Congrats! I would love to see some content about planted aquariums and how you feed your fish. I've got some very picky, tiny-mouthed fish nowadays and it's a bit of a pain buying live food all of the time for them. I'm very interested in harvesting live foods (and also plants) for my tank. I don't see many creators talking about foraging for these things for aquariums, but I know one can do that. I've recently found a large cluster of ludwigia repens growing in a creek near my house, and when I put the stems in a fish tank all I could think about was maybe finding some boogie worms :D
Aquatic succession is absolutely my favorite of your ongoing projects, so I'd love to see an update video on it. It's nearly half a year since the last video!
I'd love to see an enclosed ecosystem with fish I've been very slowly building up an ecosystem in a 10 gallon aquarium for white-cloud minnows to forever live in, and would LOVE to see how you would do such, differently to mine
Congrats! What I'd love to see you try are bioactive terrariums of different county's backyards and, really branching out, naturally planted aquariums. I think both of these will probably take more room, time and resources than a guy fresh out of university has, but you did ask!
I started a small closed ecophere becauae of being inspired by your channel. It's not air tight, so I sometimes add a little water, but it's closed otherwise. Some nice little plants growing in it. Glad to see you back!
Congratulations on completing your Bachelor's! Good to see you back, others have tried to copy and imitate you but I just scroll on by, just waiting for your return.
congratulations!!! And so glad to have you back. About a new project, what about a brackish water ecosystem? So little informations and videos about that (outside more academical channels).
Yay, congratulations! I'm excited to see more biology through your eyes. I would love to hear you talk about interesting adaptations or extremophiles, but I'll be happy to watch anything you come up with. All the best!
Ahhhh! Congratulations! ❤️🙏 So glad to see you back. Your hair is absolutely fantastic today! I recently tried a large terrarium style enclosure but alas, all of my isopods have made short work of my beautiful asparagus ferns. I'm wanting to get back in there and adjust a lot this week, my son is back in school as of today so I have a lot of free time to do so. 😊 So naturally I would really love to see you try your hand at some enclosed ecosystem terrariums! Though I hope you have better luck with your first than I have had with mine lol. Can't wait to see some new videos!
Congrats on obtaining your Bachelors degree! I've watched your content since you first started, so it's amazing seeing your development and growth. I am a chemist, so one idea that I think would be cool is the exploration of daphnia as a way to detect environmental pollutants and the health of an ecosystem.
Congratulations on graduating with your bachelor's degree! Enjoy your gap year and good luck with your master's. I have no specific ideas, but I like the way you described the other kinds of things you'd like to show. I really love your aquatic succession videos.
Glad to have you back and congratulations on your success with your studies. Do what makes you happy. As long as youre healthy and feeling fulfilled im sure whatever video projects you decide to pursue will be received with many likes and enjoyment all around. :)
Congratulations on your degree!! Echoing what everyone else said, we are glad to have you back but as always don't want you to feel any additional stress as you've mentioned you have in the past, just do what feels good to you and we will be here to enjoy anything you feel like sharing. All the best
Welcome back and congratulations! I personally would really love to see an update on aquatic ecological succession but also any new project that is something new as well.
Your content is unique and interesting, you were doing something anybody can do, but you also look at the ecosistems from a science point of view, explaining things along the way, such as how biodivercity or lighting effects an ecosphere. I personally loved that kind of content, and would love to see more!
Congrats on the degree! Looking forward to the new vids! It’d be fascinating to see a look at your local aquatic ecosystems - this vid had some bird call in the background that I’ve never heard before!
I think I have already suggested some of these... but here. Take water and plants from the same pond to make very similar jars, and try following: - adjust the jars for different pH - try adding nutrients like phosphor and nitrogen - add heavy metals like copper - add little bit salt - add little bit of some antibiotic - if possible keep the jars in different temperatures - leave one or two as control jars All other conditions should be the same. It would be interesting to see what is the effect of each "treatment".
So so happy for you! It’s awesome see you take time for your life and make updates for us. Always will support you and your work! Would like to see a video about the plants and try different experiments with different insects or environment. It’s fascinating to see the little bugs interact with there surroundings. Thank you for these educational videos🙏🏻
Congrats on all of your hard work! Both here on YT and on with your degree. I’m very interested to see what is in store, within these ecosystems you’ve made already and the expanded ideas you’re considering. Enjoy your time between college pursuits!
Welcome back friend. Congratulations on the degree and enjoy the gap year before continuing your education. I don't think I really have any suggestions for videos, but I'm excited to see what you come up with as you expand your horizons.
Very happy to hear you're coming back! I've always wanted to make a self sustaining terrarium. Maybe using an ant farm for feeding, an aquatic section, and perhaps a frog. Just an idea!
So happy for you! Would love to see you explore more biology topics outside the usual closed ecosystem stuff; if you’re excited about anything we will watch & listen with great pleasure, I’m sure. Cheers~
I would like to see how barnacle or aquatic isopod might do in a closed ecosystem. Thinking outside the jar, maybe something to do with ecology of polders. For example, I have read muskrat are a problem but I would like to know more.
Congratulations!! And yay!!! It will be great to see your videos, especially informed now but all the knowledge you gained from your undergraduate degree. And I have to agree - it does really feel like just a few weeks ago you told us you were starting your studies. Time is weird that way.
Great to see you! YOU GOT YOUR DEGREE!!! That is HUGE!!! Regarding ideas: remind us what technology you have and how much time you have. Most importantly, what are your current interests? The first videos I think of that were my favorite of yours were ones where your personality came through. Do you remember dancing with the worms? Whatever you are passionate about or you find interesting, film it, comment on it, tell us how you did it, and then update us on the progress over time. Are you interested in using anything you learned in school to bring to your channel? What do you want to do with your masters? I have a bachelor's in biology, and got a masters in an adjacent field. I got really into virology, biochem, ethics, sustainability etc. So, I guess if I got to pick any project for you to do, I would love to see a closed ecosystem setup comparing one temperature to another. As in, gather data on where you found your ecosystem. Try to recreate it at home. Have a control, one that is kept a degree hotter and one a degree cooler, and see if anything differs. What stands out most to me is always the YOU that you bring to your videos. Have fun and we will love it!!!
Hey hey. New here, ur fantastic. I work in restoration & am constantly tracking through wetlands & ur builds are a beautiful invitation to get to know these places better! Also @tanks for nothing has 3 really cool open air ecosystem builds that seem like ur vibe
Big congrats on your Bachelor's 🎉 you are one of my favourite creators on RU-vid and great news if you can make some videos during this gap year. It would be great to see a quick overview of your existing projects, which one is doing the best relatively etc. I'm sure you will come up with the goods 💚
So glad to see you again!! And congrats on your degree! I have enjoyed all of your videos - they are always interesting. Maybe a simple project for those of us who do NOT have green thumbs?! My thumbs are always vicariously green because of your videos. Thank you!
