Democracy now your anti-Semitism is blind...... Muslims have 50 countries of which 22 are non-democratic Arabs!!!!! The Jews have one democratic state even for 2 million Arab citizens.!!!!!! The one fighting for her existence in the jungle of terror and Islam who wants to destroy her!!!
Thank you so much for shining light on these works! I was wanting to do more research in the area of Israeli/Palestinian conflict. You know, to understand the history. This is because I can’t understand how a people who was targeted by Hitler, put into concentration camps, and killed and numbers of over 6 million not even 100 years ago could in another area be doing the same to others! To me, this is mine boggling! Heart wrenching! Why is America continuing to send bombs to Israel when they are not being used for defense but for offense? Blood is on our hands big time!
Not allowing Palestinians to speak at the DNC was not a "missed opportunity." It was a deliberate policy choice that reveals the disingenuousness and clear choice to bow to moneyed interests by the Democratic Party.
They did NOT follow the procedures . Endorsing Security Checks Signed agreements on what to say Submitted their speech BEFORE the DNC Can't say it's against Muslims because 2 Imams spoke. Thar means they followed the procedure You can't " crash" the DNC after threatening to be un committed and demanding a arms embargo What is wrong with people?
Government securities exchange Ecocidal heads of state capital. Vietnam kangaroo court. Treasonous office requiring punitive damages assurance. Corporate monstrosity jurisprudence, no right over our S.O.S. Apartide sell fail safe, redundancies. Heat valve, earth all that sound.
The biggest bullshit that any politician will tell you is that they will be the ones to _"chart a new path forward"_ It's tiresome hearing promises to that effect at this point.
@@marie-joseekelly2602we’re the only country that could stop this. I’m so angry that Biden got us to this point. It’s horrifying…children now having to drink from mud puddles. We need much more public pressure and outrage, but the media is also complicit.
It is always sad to see people fail to realize they are embracing the thing they say they oppose. In this case - the fascism and authoritarianism of a Democratic Party complicit in genocide, warmongering, censorship, and corporatism.
I believe her. Is she perfect? Will she make mistakes or poor decisions? Obviously. So do you. But I truly believe she has a heart for people. Please look beyond your feelings and apply wisdom, strategy to the situation.
Clear as the nose on your face Israelis declared that god gave Jews this land and they will take it by Any Means god had spoken. The population of religious zealots will out populate the secular Jews ( religious Jews are subsidized by gov. to procreate as god demands ) it is already happening We Americans are also contributing to this problem. They control the republicans and some democrats for this purpose yet not one major media organization will ever breach this problem
Linda Thomas Greenfield: “A ceasefire in Gaza is now in sight.” Benjamin Netanyahu: Yes, if you use a strong pair of binoculars, you can see it appear on a distant horizon.
“Let not any one pacify his conscience by the delusion that he can do no harm if he takes no part, and forms no opinion. Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing. He is not a good man who, without a protest, allows wrong to be committed in his name, and with the means which he helps to supply, because he will not trouble himself to use his mind on the subject.” John Stuart Mill
In a healthy democracy, Harris would've probably not been anyone's favored choice. She got this position never having to compete the way she had to in 2020. Just two months ago she was one of the least popular VP in recent history, and frankly, the jubilation about her ascendancy has more to do with the sigh of relief among a constituency that didn't want to choose between a barely functioning old man and a crook. That's a sad way to rise to a position. She can salvage it by actually creating changes that are bold, but I never expect boldness from American politicians. Even Obama, the great hope of progressives was mostly impotent throughout his tenure.
You shouldn't expect perfection. She has a heart for people. Let's start there. Everything isn't as cut and dry as we like to imagine. There are complexities I'm sure. But I'd much rather deal with her than trump
Kamala: “We are the greatest nation on earth.” You have to empty out all your conscience and shame to be able to say this out loud, it’s a lot of hard work! 😅
As a non-american, I find the american exceptionalism disgusting, as most people in the world do. Greatest nation on what? Most homeless people? Most incarcerated people? Most school shootings? Most bombs dropped on other nations?
And the "only this country could be the place of my story" horseshyte needs to stop too. Has this lady ever been out of the country and seen non-YT mixed race women in positions of power?
Barbara Ransby on the failure of the two party system to offer alternatives. The convention jamboree organisers may live to regret not including uncommitted delegates on the platform. Nothing on climate change…
Is there no one else instead of Kamala or Trump ? Maurice you got a big job to do it seems that government officials make lots of promises and never act upon their promise.
💯 How can Amy put these people on and not Jill Stein? Trump broke her brain. Anyone watching this video is actually dumber after watching this nonsense.
I feel that none of us are being represented anymore. I know as a working class white man I do not feel either party has my best interests in mind. They barely even try to pretend they are looking out for Americans anymore. Their mission seems to be to divide us along any lines they can while they all spend for special interests.
@@sandracasso8034Trump sanctioned Russia, threw their diplomats out, closed down Nordstream, tore up nuclear arms agreements , and filled Ukraine with NATO weapons and trainers- crossing a clear red line and leading to the invasion. He's an absolute idiot, but no friend of Russia.
I'm afraid that Kamala blew it at the convention by not platforming those against the war in Gaza. She also should have also been full throated about the need for an arms embargo. Granted it would not have been welcomed by ALL Democrats but they would simply not be single issue voters. By avoiding that she may have lost significant votes and who knows how many RFK Jr's voters may move to Trump if he confirms ending his campaign and endorsing him. I'm serious when I say, it could very well lose the slight edge so desperately needed.
I heard and read RFK Jr. takes away votes from mister Shitzhispantz, not the Democrats. Mister Shitzhispantz even did a phone call months ago to RFK Jr. and asked him to drop out. This secret recording was released.
Why can't these third parties, Jill, Cornell, Claudia, WFP get together and put whatever differences they have aside an push to first establish a democracy where there is now an oligarchy?
Jill has invited this. She offered the ballot line to Bernie in 2016. But Bernie is a servant of the Dems. Cornell is a good man but a political naif who doesn't see the big picture at all or know who's who or what it takes to run a campaign. His brief affiliation with PP, his unwarranted smearing of Jill, and his hopeless vanity project run makes this clear. Claudia is working to build an option for people who don't have Green ballot access and who are to the left even of Greens. I voted for PSL in 2020 when Democrats conspired to remove ballot access for Greens in my state. I'll happily be voting for Claudia in 2024.
@@Apostate1970that would be a vote for trump and he put Netanyahu in power. You think president Biden and Kamala haven’t tried talking to Netanyahu, but so is trump. Who do you think he’s going to listen to Biden or his buddy trump? Trump wants to turn Gaza into a beachfront resort. Please wake up!
@@sandracasso8034everyone and their goldfish knows that Biden could have stopped the slaughter first month by refusing weapons, other presidents have done exactly that, but do go on.
Thank you so much for this session at DM interview with Maurice Mitchell, WFP, Mohammed Kader, USCPR, and Barbara Ransby, Prof of Black Studies Univ of Illinois, Author!! An exceptional presentation, inspiring. I will continue my support of these organizations and others con mucho gusto in the future. POWER TO THE PEOPLE. An aside, it’s wonderful to see Juan Gonzalez and Amy Goodman together again at the table. Best and big regards from this transplanted Chicagoan ❤😊
I VOTE for JILL STEIN 💚 2024 as President of America 💯. Jill STEIN is Against Genocide Wars. Jill STEIN is for a higher minimum wage 💲. Jill STEIN is for Free Health care for America. Jill STEIN is for women's People's Rights. I am Voting Jill STEIN 💚 2024 as President of America Green party
The Working Families Party in New York has a long, disappointing history of simply being a line for whatever Democrat is running. Despite having a line for 25 years, they have yet to independently elect a candidate. As a "third party' they've basically been tied to the Democratic Party.
What a high-level debate. And all within a 20-min segment. Wish we could see more stuff like this everywhere. I was not inclined to Mitchell’s viewpoint but at the same time he came across very rationally with the Block and Build tagline. All very good speakers with great experience and perspectives.
@@nickmolinary2044 He wasn't stumping for them. He was saying at this current point we only have 2 options. Both are bad when it comes to this issue, but one side will be worse. You pick the party that you can influence the most with grassroots mobilization. When has America been on the right side of human rights issues without pressure from a major movement. Addressing human rights issues is the responsibility of the citizenry. Furthermore he was asked a specific question which he answered well. The other gentleman spoke more on the atrocities against Palestinians.
fighting fascism with an unelected nominee whose policy boils down to WW3...how she plans to keep all these promises about housing and groceries if we're at war!!!??
Its worse than disillusioned, its complicit. The Democratic party is no more "Democratic" than the Republican party, two wings of the same foul bird. Lending them support, endorsement or cover ahead of any real concession is a fools errand. Maga supplanted the old guard in Republican circles explicitly because it was an uncompromising block. Blue maga is equally uncompromising. To believe, and worse to waste the hope and energy of others with the stated goal of moving a party after you have already so cheaply handed over your endorsement... Its both, illogical and cowardly.
What?🤔 All I hear is that the Democrats are at fault 🤷 did you guys know why we couldn't get a cease fire in Israel and Gasa? Donald Trump called Israel's prime minister not to have a cease fire till he wins the election! Let that sink in! Donald Trump, when he was in office in 2016, he literally gave Israel's prime minister permission to do whatever they wanted with the Palestinian. I don't hear anyone talking about Hamas and all Iran proxies asking them or protests for a cease fire?... Let's not all be hypocrites now!
@@lynns4426 I never said I felt like it was yet to come, it’s most definitely in motion. The republicans are obstructionists that’s their role to play but ultimately we have two parties that want to maintain US hegemony and imperialism, our domestic policy will slide to the right no matter what if both sides are only interests in enriching asset holder (see Kamala’s blackrock Top economic advisor Mike Pyle)
Maurice Mitchell isn't pro-Democratic Party. His argument is that we need to defeat Fascist first by being in a coalition with the D-Party, similar to what just happened in France. Biden's pro union stance is some sign that the Dems are pushable. It will be an uphill battle, but what is the alternative?
This conflict is between Hamas and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Not Israel and Palestinians. Protect the innocent, Feed the hungry, House the homeless
not really? Israel is an ethno state, there's no removing Netanyahu and expecting things to get better. Hamas is the result of the apartheid and years of occupation and oppression and cruelty.
@@NotesNNotes Libs have closed their ears. They virtue signal, but ultimately don't value the lives of those their empire sacrifices enough to understand the real stakes.
When a lifelong Democrat, from an iconic Democrat family, who tried to run as a Democrat, and who's running mate was a Democrat, warns you about the dangers of voting for the Democrat in this election, you should probably listen.
@@citiremedia1824 Because his ENTIRE family is hung up in the name. I respect RFK Jr because he knows that you have to stand for what’s right, even if you stand alone. To quote the great Senator John Kennedy (no relation) of Louisiana- “ if you’re going to be a smartass first you have to be smart, otherwise you’re just an ass.”
I reluctantly have to agree with Maurice Mitchell. I was feeling depressed after the last two pro-Israel/zionist nights at the convention, but he is right. The first objective is to crush the American fascists, and then organize and push the Democrats towards policies that a beneficial to us. I also agree, that this will be a generational fight and not just about this election. I get why some cannot support Harris and will vote third party, but realistically, I think Harris is ideologically all over the place and will shift policies if it is politically advantageous for her. We need to build an independent coalition that can pressure and lobby the Democratic Party.
It may truly be the case that Harris is, at a personal and individual level, genuinely disturbed by the images of mangled Palestinian children. It is almost certainly the case that she is more impacted than Biden, a man whose attitude towards Palestinian life seems best characterized as racist indifference. For the sake of argument, let's say that Harris really does want to reign in Netanyahu and bring an end to this ongoing G as is claimed. She's still not going to do it. Because ultimately it's not about who is the figurehead of the DP so much as it's about the entrenched, institutionalized positions throughout the extended DP apparatus--an apparatus which is inextricably linked to the organs of mainstream corporate media, financial and market sectors, special interests lobbies such as AIPAC, the military-industrial complex and Washington think tanks. This extended institutional apparatus and these organs are what ultimately determine policy and they exert enormous pressure to enact their consensus. The DP platform has already been published and the space dedicated to Israel and Iran makes it abundantly clear what the institutional consensus is: continuing the G. Harris will not "reign in" Netanyahu because if she were to use any of the real levers of power at her disposal that would actually allow her to accomplish this, it would entail enormous backlash and penalization to reign her in and reassert the consolidated institutional consensus--something she has neither the will nor the courage to challenge. This is why the desperate notion that Kamala Harris will accomplish the ceasefire if only she can get into office is both a false hope and a failed political strategy for those seeking to end the Gaza G.
I am hopeful by the 2 young men as guests and their work in making change real in the future of US political system from the ground up. Thank you Democracy Now for a great roundtable..
The Jill Stein base also needs to wake up to this idea. Come together and then work as a movement for change WITHIN the democratic party. America has been the biggest purveyors of war and violence globally today
It’s going to be fun watching this same person waiting for democrats to do something for him 20 years from now. How can you watch insanely rich people tell you YOU have too much
i appreciate learning the link between the West Bank and Mississippi. Only more dots being connected every day that lead back to US empire denying *certain* humans their inalienable rights whether those humans are Americans or citizens of other places abroad.
This movement is brilliant. "Let's roll the dice with the future of Palestine and the USA, and hope if the other guy wins he doesn't irrevocably wreck both countries which is exactly what his stated plans will do." Great strategy!
How can she say "No presidential candidate represents us, ignoring Jill Stein who joined student protesters and was assaulted by police and put in jail. She's saying she only recognizes the 2 party, Uniparty. Disgusting!
Neither one is qualified. If you go by what you hear doesn’t mean anything. A lot of things have been said a lot of things and holidays have been established but we have yet to receive reparations for our ancestors free labor and the brutal enslavement.
Why would I as an American care about what they say. I got my own family, friends and life to worry about. Imagine politicking for another country as ours descends into chaos. This old bird is off her meds
It might help if Biden left now and Kamala as vice president took over now. Just maybe in my dreams she will fire Blinken and Sullivan and stop the mad rush towards nuclear war that Biden seems intent on.
