In this video I play A Gentle Rain, the most relaxing game I've ever played. For a game this calming I reduced the editing down to nearly nothing for a more chill vibe.
For most people you can expect your setup to be significantly simpler than mine ;)

This game has become a permanent resident on my table by my dad chair as its so good at being a quick game fix. My 2nd fav pick up this year second to Voidfall. Still haven't gotten past a score of 17 yet🤣

@coreyl6221 Haha I like that scenario! Yeah, Voidfall is tough to top. And 17 remains my high score as of now, that was a great round!

I finally picked up a copy of Gentle Rain. We played our first game wrong but it still could have worked out great. I didn't realize that the blossoms placed had to match the tiles. It was very fun to play. It's nice to have quick fast games between breaking out large boxes that take more time to set up and play. We recently played Seaside too. Have you seen that one?

@markdandridge4433 I have played Seaside! My friend and I played at Gen Con 2024. I really liked it; the components were nice quality, and it was great to make two giant stacks of chips at the end to see who won (it was me 😉 but just barely!) Ultimately I didn’t feel like it had enough of a hook to dedicate the shelf space to it, but I would gladly play it again if I get the opportunity. I agree with you, having other games to break up the big box brain-burners is essential. Any others in this category that you’d recommend?

@@table_for_one When I discover another one I will definitely pop over. Currently I am waiting on Big Box Andromedea's Edge hopefully this week. 🚀🚀🚀

@markdandridge4433 Oh my goodness, yeah, that’s the opposite of something like A Gentle Rain haha! I hope you love it! On the big box side I am FINALLY playing through Anachrony and its many (many [many]) modules-loving it!

This game totally reminds me of Crystalo. It makes me want to dust it off and bring it to the table. I couldn't tell the difference in the similar colors. Perhaps in person I could see the difference. Yes, this was very relaxing game. Thank you for sharing.

@markdandridge4433 I don't know Crystalo, but I'll look it up--keep the comparisons coming! =) I agree, my one complaint with this game (even though I think it's stellar!) is that it can be difficult to differentiate the colors sometimes. I have excellent vision with no color impairment and I still have to look closely. I love the game anyway though haha

@@table_for_one I missed spelled the game. Crystallo is correct. I was missing an L. It's designed by Liberty Kifer and published by Deep Water Games. It's 1 player and takes about 30 minutes.

@markdandridge4433 I looked it up and I do recognize it, but I haven’t played it. You recommend it then?

@@table_for_one I have only played it I think 2 times. I bought it to make free shipping. My friend Daniel had did a review and play through of it. It definitely has the same feel. Watching your playing through reminded me of how fun these kinds of games can be. It's not too expensive. I think it's $20. I would play it again. I am just really deep with Dwellings of Eldevale.

@markdandridge4433 I haven’t played Dwellings of Eldervale myself, but ai see it’s a Luke Laurie game with a solo mode. I should add this to my list of games to try!
