That looks like a cool airplane to build. Also seems that there is quite a bit of room for modifications given the very rudimentary set of plans. Enjoy your uploads, man. Enjoy.
Hi James I saw your video on the Royal P-51 kit review ,very good.I ended up buying one on eBay Nice kit but $$$$$!Thanks for making me own another kit!🤣Happy building
Nice, those Royal kits are awesome. And yes, not cheap. But sometimes you can find a good deal. good luck with building it, I am looking forward to tackling that kit one day.
Balsa USA used to have a great Ercoupe kit that was very scale with the twin tail. There was an option for scale landing gear, but I'm not sure if it is still available. I believe it was about 10 foot wingspan.
Hi James, yes these kits from the early `80s were bargan basment kit no frills, box of balsa no pics on box, plain jane instructions no pics jst read & glue. I built a Swizzle Stick & a Tempo ll frm them all good flying planes and simple. Of course my trusty K&B 40 did the trick😊. With todays wood pricing it might be better to buy a kit, and they may be laser cut now. On old timer friend who did scratch building said he'd buy the Phaton ll biplane jst for the wood supply as a bargain.
hi James, I bought this kit a few years back I walked into a hobby and they had this for 50 dollars less than what they what they sale it for online. I also got a brand new OS max 46AX to power this bad boy. If you are going to build this airplane let me know and I will give the cheek cowls to you if you want them as I will never use them. thanks hope to see you build this one! Michael Johnston
Hi, thanks for sharing your story. These kits are certainly more expensive, but good thing is they are typically cheaper than an ARF. I appreciate your offer about the cheeks, but like you I wouldn’t use them. I think it looks better without them. Good luck with your kit, with the 46ax, it will a really nice flyer.
