My girl Cousin, my Aunt, and my sister all ran scrapers for our company, Cat621s and Cat 633 C and D.🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ like a car, take a few laps, then be attentive to what works and what doesn't!
A heavy duty gal! A scraper is a huge machine with wheels over 6 feet tall! It takes hard work and perseverance to operate one and not all womenfolk love heavy machinery! Salute to this lady! 👍
Some how we have to get back the desire to work male or female this gal displayed an example of fortitude and Will to accomplish what ever needs to be done
Nice job on the 627! She runs better than a lot of guys I've seen operate them. That jobsite needs good haul roads for faster production, though. I'm not seeing that here.
A recent trend up in north California ag country where I operate is having women operate heavy ag equipment. They tend to have less ego and this translates into less wear and tear on equipment.
Where I worked we had 27's and still push-loaded them with a D8 for efficiency. I liked the 627 but they didn't have ac. The 621's did but they suck on a greasy topsoil pile of soft fill pad.

worked with a guy in the 80s who had two artificial legs due to a car accident he was on a 627 for gibbons earth movers (uk) he could make one talk fantastic operator
First of all she's doing a good job running that scraper. I started out on a ts24 Hannah run everything from a 613 to 6:41 caterpillar when I started they didn't have the cushion Goose necks like they do nowadays but I have run them with cushion they are nice. I always carry my below for two reasons first a lot of the old scrapers didn't have brakes and he had to drag the bowl to stop so you wanted to close to the ground, second they all work better with the bow down and use the Hydraulics is a little bit of cushion and when I run one with a cushion I always have kept the phone down for for just safety reasons and they do write a little bit better and you keep your center of gravity low and you don't turn over quite as quick just an old scraper hands thoughts thanks for listening
I can't believe some of these comments! Women are generally capable of doing pretty much anything a man can !! And , as much as the footage of the scraper is good, it focuses on to the woman driving more thsn the machine itself, like its astonishing !! Jesus! And I'm a red blooded bloke typing this!
Worked with a bunch of woman in excavation and I’d take most anyone of them over half the dudes I worked with, in my experience a lot of guys ego gets in the way of getting shit done and the girls would be working their ass off while the guys talked about hard work, lol
Women are in scrapers strictly because of minority laws. This lady would be gone in ten minutes on any dirt hogging job because she would be in the way all day. Any scraper hand running on sight with the bowl hummed all the way up is a rookie and you tell by which head most of the commenter are thinking. Eye for dirt is the reason she's in the scraper instead of dozer . Blade or finish scraper. Go watch a actual scraper video on here and you'll see what moving dirt actually all about.
That's what turns an operator into a finisher that and in the fill if you can jump off the edge and it's the right material not wet so your sliding but carve that whole slope and make it a 4/1 and look like a dozer did it then your on your way to maybe never leaving the seat always need at least one at least if not two or three even more experienced ppl and it makes life for everyone so much nicer
Not really that rare of an occurrence. There was a young woman driving a 627G on the site I work in SE Australia a couple of months ago. She's one of the earth moving company's top scraper operators. Not all of them get in the '27s. Most of them are restricted to the '21s. But the woman in your video looks much finer in a pair of jeans than the one I'm talking about :)
@@dennisholst4322 TBH I don't really care that much, but it's nice to see a well proportioned female when you're looking at dirt all day. FFS sake I'm not going to mention it to her. The woman on my site operated everything. Graders, scrapers(single and twin engined), trucks, dozers, the works. She did great work.
20+ years operating equipment. What's the first thing you do when you jump in the scraper seat? Buckle up. 30% more productive, way safer. I don't want anyone getting hurt on my spread.
Some of us love it, some people don’t!.. I have recently been in a Manufacturing job for the past 4 years and I absolutely can’t stand it!!! I miss running Heavy Equipment so bad, it’s what I love doing!!! Did it for 12 years, mostly Scrapers..
i never really got the push pull thing. you see the tires spinning under full load, and it gives me the heebs. we used to run 2 or 3 - 627's depending on the haul length paired with an older D7. the scrapers would boil dirt out with no strain. and the old D7 didn't care. with a big old sheepsfoot on the other end, we'd get compaction plus in almost any weather. just my two cents...
I went to high school with a girl who got into scrapers even before I did ran into her here in Canada in fort Mac and I have a really good friend just had a baby but she operates and same with the other one Karina they keep up with the best there definetly finishers or I should say they are operators not just driving around dummy dumping lol
Okay, look, Im a scraperhand and I thought for sure women scraperhands didnt exist, or didnt make it long. How in the hell do they deal with their tits bouncing? Like seriously lol, every chick Ive ever taken offroading has made me simmer down because the bouncing hurt their breasts. Running a scraper is a far wilder ride than any trail Ive been on, are they all A cups or what
Lots of women operate equipment. No problem. No seatbelt = problem. Nothing to do with the operators gender, obviously knows the ropes. She looks pretty young. Maybe someone should tell her how dangerous that is.
Yes she would be more of a video of what not to do actually pretty green. She would be sent home if you had 4 scrapers running because would be in the way all day
Make anybody jealous. I sure would like to get in the industry if women can do it and better than men i should be able to. Pan operator is the ultimate behind road grader.
Got nothing to do with be female....No lap strap, carries the can too high, spins the wheels when loading... and one doesn't 'drive a scraper'... you run one!
What century are you living in? With this attitude, you should be afraid for your job! It is proven that women in these professions handle these machines more conscientiously than men.
Hi, Folks. While I applaud women getting into operating, I'm gonna take a different tack here and ask a 'kwestyun': "If she has two hands, two feet, two eyes and a brain, just 'wottinell' is so danged remarkable about a woman operating a machine?" That's the same basic equipment that most men operate with. It'za matter of personal choice. If she wants to do it and can hold her end up, I say, "GO for it." I will say one thing about her though.
