Not necessarily, look at the item they crafted just before showing the fast drill. Looks like a shard but a new kind, presumably more powerful, allowing for crazy overclocking
Edit: I was completely wrong lol. How it feels to spread misinformation 🐬 Interesting, iirc the current Mk5 belts are limited by the game engine, looks like they found a new way of handling belts
How can a 3 min video with not a single word of dialog keep me captivated and get me so excited. I’m sorry for anyone who wanted to do something with me in September.
I think it might have something to do with the other optimization changes and the newer engine, because I remember Snutt saying in another video that the MK5 was already pushing the limit of what the game could process.
This video made me realize that this game has some of the best sound design I've ever played. The machine sounds are incredibly heavy, and there so so much background vibration warble that falls into the background so easily. Top tier.
Exactly my thoughts as well, sometimes I go to my oil processing facility just to listen to the refineries ka-chunking. My only gripe is that the Rifle sounds a bit plasticky.
One of my favourite parts of this game is the sound design of all the UI buttons. Flicking switches on/off, the big launch button for milestones, and my favourite of all, the lever to reset the power fuse. It all feels absolutely amazing, and the sound design does so much work there
I've never seen another video game producer or developer manage to cause so much continued hype for a game. You guys have absolutely killed it with this game and have done a fantastic job of catering to the community. We're all very excited for 1.0 and want to thank you for the 5+ years you've dedicated to making this game a masterpiece.
Wholly agree. I got bored of wandering around building stuff, but I've never lost the feeling of hype in the long run. I knew eventually we'd see some really crazy stuff with 1.0.
I'm nearly 60 years old and was playing pong when it was cutting edge. I've played 1000's of games over the decades, and have never not been an avid gamer. Satisfactory, without a shadow of doubt, is the greatest game ever made. I've wracked up nearly 1000 hours in this - the only hard part was trying to wait for full release when I'll probably double (at least) that number. Can't wait!
@@bazeloth Yeah, I love Factorio as well. Also Dyson Sphere Program and Captain of Industry, but amongst those titles, Satisfactory is still my favourite.
I think theres a metallic texture we can apply to any building, they show the machine that pipes going into with the same sheen and I believe the Particle Accelerator in the background of the same shot has a yellow and shiny color
I've also noted some particle accelerators are copper, and other silver colored too... Maybe they're new factory colors bought from the awesome shop? Edit: there's the gold colored pipe from the first teaser too.
I think they have extended the current color palette you can assign to equipment to also include full on materials; e.g. copper, chrome, alu, etc. Maybe these must be unlocked through research or found in the world. Looking good!
The devs are so incredibly good at sound design. Everything sound substantial and industrial. Everything mixes well with each other, nothing drowns out other sounds too much. I have worked in actual manufacturing sites before, and I can tell you with confidence the devs have NAILED the factory machine and robotic sound
0:50 This looks straight out of an art book, like some piece of concept art or depiction of a futuristic factory planet. Huge props to the whole team at CSS for making a game that can look THIS GOOD
And the sound design is just *chefs kiss*. I love just standing around and listening to the factory. The hissing from the constructors, the droning from the smelters, the whirring of the motors in the assembly machines, the breathing-like (and admittedly eerie) murmer at 0:30, the particle accelerator ramping up still sends shivers down my spine, and that growl at 2:35 is just "mmmph". You can almost tangibly imagine what's going on inside the machines.
Thats what caught my attention too. But i also hope this doesn’t take away from slug hunting. I rather enjoyed from time to time to go hunting for slugs and collectibles
@@robertcb2005 It will probably be very late game Tier 9 so it will be plenty of time before you can craft them. so basically after finishing the game its creative
I too haven't played for atleast a few months, I'm soooo itching to play.. they gotta stop with these damn trailers, cause it's making it waaayyy to difficult, I wanna play now!
@@Joseph_ironstone Not correct. The Consumption can fluctuate. The only constant flat line should be the energy production curve which should be over your max possible consumption :)
1:12 The manufacturer is giving off purple gas while only producing computers. Its either a new fire effect or theres some quantum shenanigans going on
I think it might either be a visual effect of a building on a floor below or the new shards have an extra spice in them. If it's the latter, we might need to give up our slug shards to make them.
I think it's the latter. A new and different type of shard, which we saw later in the video. Since it takes some high tier tech, it must have features above regular shards, but I can't think what. It's not wireless power.
Six seconds into the video I'd like to comment on the architecture and the amount of work that apparently goes into the presentation of these trailers.
Coffee Stain knows how to treat its players. This teaser had me hyped the whole way through. New buildings, several new materials, new fluid, and quantum belts??? This all looks incredible
Seems to be the total opposite of the Scrap Mechanic Development, if there is any... Last Official Steam DevBlog was Mar 23, 2023. Okay at least on Twitter that had an update on May 21 2024. But still. Coffee Stain is GOOATED when it comes to community!
There is just so much and this factory looks incredible. Hearing all these new machines and seeing all these new parts that you guys have been cooking up for years is surreal.
Cant wait for this game to release, so i can start a whole new factory from the ground up AND THIS TIME I WONT BUILD A FACTORY THAT IS TO SMALL I SWEAR
Gonna make mine in the middle of the map, less travel to everywhere and gonna skip coal and just use biomass burners until i unlock fuel. With them being feedable now by conveyors this is gonna be interesting!
As a Physicist these are my theories on the items. 0:17-0:22 SAM Ore -> Constructor -> Exotic Matter ⁃ Found it odd that a raw ore produces a filled canister. The only other item that seems to just spawn a container to house it is blackpowder and screws. All other items can infer that one of its ingredients is used to make its container. ⁃ I don’t think it is a liquid otherwise I think it would be a pipe output. 0:29-0:35 Exotic Matter, Caterium Ingots, Aluminum Ingots-> Atmospheric Compressor-> Meissner/Phase/Superconductive Metal Ingot ⁃ Based on the idea that the new machine produces coolant with no inputs so it is some kind of super cooler/compressor ⁃ I believe the new ingot needs to be some kind of theoretical material since it uses the SAM item. 0:40-0:43 Meissner Ingot -> Constructor -> High Temperature Superconductor ⁃ Complete conjecture based on the above point 0:53-0:57 Atmospheric Compressor -> Super Coolant ⁃ Complete conjecture based on the above point 1:00-1:12 Coal -> Particle Accelerator-> (Hyper?)Diamond ⁃ Seems odd that a particle accelerator is needed to compress diamonds. A bit overkill. ⁃ With that in mind it is probably some kind of hyper dense diamond 1:18-1:23 Diamond, Possibly more unknown inputs(Aluminum Ingots?) -> Manufacturer -> Memory Crystal(5D Optical data storage) ⁃ Seems to be in the same building as the Meissner Ingots so it could possibly be using the Aluminum ingots 1:24-1:30/1:37-1:51 Super Coolant, Superconductor, Flux Capacitor, Supercomputer -> Quantum Encoder -> Quantum Computer ⁃ At 1:28 the belt is empty. In fact it looks like the product from 1:32 is what that belt is connected to. The item seems to be a supercomputer. 0:56-0:59/1:31-1:36 Computer, AI Limiter, High-Speed Connector, Plastic -> Manufacturer -> Supercomputer ⁃ Based on the recipe this is a reskinned Supercomputer 1:53-1:57 Plasma, Hyperdiamond -> Particle Accelerator-> Quantum Crystal 2:09-2:15 Nuclear Pasta, Quantum Crystal, Concrete-> Manufacturer -> Magnetic Containment Generator 2:16-2:24 Plutonium Waste, Magnetic Containment Generator -> Particle Accelerator-> Mini Sun/Fusion Reactor 2:25-2:45 Quantum Crystal, Quartz, Memory Crystal-> Quantum Encoder -> Power Shard, Plasma
@@yarghhargh9345 Actually I got my physics degree from Texas A&M University with a minor in Astrophysics and Mathematics. Sure it was pedantic of me to throw it around in a RU-vid video comment, especially when it is completely irrelevant, but sometimes you just got to show off.
These trailers are such good quality well done to the team behind them, the cinematography, the builders, and everyone who made the game pretty did a fantastic job (as well as other people i didnt think to mention that probably also worked on this lol)
Guys, you doin it all right!!!! You added a ton of new content while in early access! You listen to the community! You surprise us with freakin new stuff every few month! Your vids are hilarious great marketing! I mean we sit here and totally freak out over ikea lamps, purple ooze and insane speed conveyor belts! WTF? You listen to the community! Yes you do a lot! YOU ARE AWESOME!
I love how the Constructors are a full-speed animation from a distance.. last time I fired up, you could get about 15 feet from them and the animations went from smooth to low-quality immediately. I hope that's a sign that they've fixed the animation distance finally.
The animation distance is part of the engines optimization system. Reducing animation frequency on distant objects saves CPU / GPU resources. Notice hoa you have "full speed" at great distance if there are few machines on your screen - but when you have a full factory with hundreds of conveyors and machines all on screen - they start to "chop" much closer. Perhaps they have made this an adjustable thing in the gfx settings.
@@Bloody_crowyeah, making these videos they can "get right into the simulation" in a granular way if they want. Notice the deliberate depth of focus changes to draw the eye close or far. A director's technique irl, but if you think about it, not so obvious in a game. If you develop in Unreal Engine, it shouldn't be hard to do. In fact, my Nvidia card comes with a gaming overlay filter which lets me play with that a little.
@jarls5890 I don't think it will be adjustable as it's very hardware dependent. The more parallel compute your CPU+GPU allow the more full animated stuff you get.
As for me, I hope for custom animations for each product in big buildings. Dunno why but I have a feeling, that i will see different assembling for structure cube and computer at 11 sept.
That was so cool! I haven't touched this game in years but still plan to do a new run eventually, and have been enjoying the videos here now and then. Excellent work.
I haven’t been this excited for a full release in a while, and the type of games I typically play I would have never thought something like Satisfactory would be the game that gets me this hyped.
2:15 Plutonium waste on the conveyor belt. Meaning there might actually be a use for plutonium waste now. Which means there might be a new power source even stronger than plutonium fuel rods.
I think being able to manufacture energy shards now, it will become a consumable item. With that comes the need to keep a greater power source with no waste, IKEA lamp comes to the rescue

All the materials we have sent up the elevator into space....goes into building one giant Ikea warehouse orbiting the planet. THAT is what we have been kept in the dark on.
The "hummming sounds" remembers me of the LIMBO game, where you have to time your jumps at a certain achieved progress in game on said sound effevt... loved it then LOVE IT NOW
Kudos to satisfactory! I have been saving the game for release and have not been playing it the last two years, but I was still instantly able to recognise the new windows and items. This is how you do updates, feature communication and marketing!
"Now, what we got here is a little game of show and tell. You don't wanna show me nothin', but you're tellin me everything. I know you know where they are, so tell me before I do some damage you won't walk away from."
Maybe it's just me but what really got me wet was that BEAUTIFUL shade of purplish bronze on the pipes and the light reflecting off of it. I didn't even know that colour was in Satisfactory (but then again I took a break since 0.7 waiting to start a new one in 1.0)
