When we moved to Cape Cod one of my musical goals was to play at a very cool spot called Harvest Gallery and Wine Bar in Dennis, Cape Cod. After going to a few open mic nights there over the past ten months, and boldly introducing myself to the owner and periodically sending him text messages with my music, he contacted me and asked if I could fill in for band that had to cancel. I said, yes. After that I searched around for a phone number of one of the top guitarist on Cape, who I had only briefly met once or twice. I asked Mark Usher if he wanted to join me at a gig that was scheduled to start in about three hours. Although a little concerned, Mark said he was in. It was a night of straight musical conversation. Some songs Mark had never played before, some he never heard before but we pushed on and had a really fun night.
Apologies for the long video but I wanted to save it all…at least for me. This was a private little goal achieved. I’m Lucky That Way.
