Preach dude, Spotify is my go to for repeated listening but the amount of insanely good recommendations RU-vid hits me with that I KNOW Spotify won't throw my way is insane.
tldr; don't be sheep people, be goats. 🤘🐐 So the thing that God sees in His sheep is a gentle and yielded spirit. They trust their Shepherd. They follow His voice. On the other hand, the goats have a spirit of defiance, self-will, or independence from God’s involvement in their lives.🐐
It is awesome to witness the birth of a new and awesome metal band. I am looking forward to cheering you on with a crowd of a hundred people in the coming years, and with tens of thousand some time later. I can hear your passion in every single song. Keep that up and you'll play on the big stages in no time!
Ever come across a band you've never heard before, then when you do hear said band, it's like listening to them for the 1000th time? A Goat As Our Shepherd is one of those bands for me. This album is chock full of nostalgic sounds for some reason, even though this is a new band to me.
Love it!! great album, definitely reminds me of Lamb of God and Mastodon which I love. Overall, songwriting is creative and love the groovy riffs. Very unique sound, will definitely listen again.
Non de Dieu ! C'est une agréable surprise. La pochette de l'album est sublime, et le travail derrière est une grande réussite. Vous pouvez être fier de vous, félicitations !

This album is so good. I've listened to it three times inside of two days it's just so well constructed. As soon as I can justify the shipping costs to the US I'm getting it on vinyl.
Belgium and the Netherlands. We play shows indeed. Mainly in the aforementioned countries for the time being. Working on expansion slowly but steadily😉. Thanks for asking man🙏
it's been a long time since I heard a band and didn't say "hmm, not bad" but said: "damn, this is good stuff!" *following* Edit: wait, these guys are Belgian? I'm there at the next gig

Hi Randy! T'Seyen - vocalist here. In our lyrics, there's pretty much always a reference to the meaning behind our band name. We, as humans, consider ourselves as the superior species, but are we, really? How can the summum of intelligence and civilization be so self-destructive towards ourselves and towards our natural environment? Now, that sounds like an easy topic to write about in metal, so we take it one step further by throwing in some self-reflection. I can complain in the lyrics as much as I want about what's going wrong in the world, but does that make me any better than the rest? No, it doesn't. That's why the Goat might indeed be a better Shepherd... 🎤
@@woutertseyen9031 I see. That makes sense. Tried looking up your lyrics but for obscure bands, it gets tricky. Thank you for the reply, BTW. Is there any symbolism in your music? Is there a way I can read any of the lyrics?
@@randynewman7173 We have the lyrics in the booklet of the CD and LP, but they're not all published online unfortunately. We have two lyric video's though, for 'The Awakening of the Martyr' and 'Veil of Sanity'. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cjeb_HoDhCE.html (original recording) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--imf-d5M5A0.html About symbolism: there absolutely is symbolism, but that's rather on a personal level. I try to write my lyrics in an open way, so that everyone can find their own symbolic meaning. I don't want to stick to one specific situation where the texts can be translated to real-life circumstances. Maybe there'se something totally different to be found for your own situation. Sticking a direct meaning to the songs would take away your own imagination.
@woutertseyen9031 you absolute Chad. Thank you for the reply. After listening to and viewing The Awakening of the Martyr, i have to ask, is the goat supposed to represent the devil, considering the anti religious themes?
@@randynewman7173 That is correct, in this context. However, the Goat could also represent any creature that is used/abused by mankind, and that includes people as well. Aren't we the helpless goats, (mis)lead by politicians that should never have been our shepherd in the first place? Is life on Earth lead by natural forces, or do we have the right to steer it to our will, like we're trying to do now?
