Grant I used to use the electric all the time for trolling. I have a 110Ah deep cycle battery for the electric. Depending on current, wind, and amount of troll I have got as much as 5 hours from the battery. However, if the current and wind is strong this could drop to as low as 2-3 hours. Even using the anchor function in a strong current can cause the motor to work hard. I have found that using the outboard, with the line well behind the boat, works well.
Hi Fossil. I said hi to you at the boat ramp a few weeks ago. Have all my own tackle, boat etc. After some local knowledge, would you consider taking out an offsider one day? Available most times. Happy to contribute, wash boat etc Cheers Geoffro l
Brice I subscribe to fish are where you find them. One days catch does not guarantee they will be there tomorrow. There are only a few places in the Camden Haven where the water is really deep, and that is near the entrance. Both Watson's Lake and Queens Lake would struggle to get over 2m. There is a school of thought that says shallow warmer water in winter and deeper cool water in summer. Not much help.
