A Good Enough Summary of Kingdom Hearts 3: Re Mind 

Also yes, I'm bummed the update made Kingdom Hearts no longer drippy, only purple. I'll be playing some Dream Drop Distance (literallyohmygodwhy) later today at www.twitch.tv/barryisstreaming then I'll be taking a looooooooong break from anything Kingdom Hearts. But not from videos! Got lots of plans for new stuff in 2020, stay tuned 😎

So simply put: Sora go back in time to save Kairi. He succeded, then get Thanosed. A year later, Riku try a new game on Cid computer while Kairi let a bunch of old men explore her heart and body in search of clues for Sora, and Sora fight against Not-Noctis in Shibuya.

For those who do wish to have a Decent Summary of ReMind: We open like, 75 years in the past, where Young Xehanort meets the Master of Masters from Union Cross, and or back cover as he is barely in UX. The Master of Masters does his normal cryptic riddles and Xehanort takes it literally and The Master is like "wait, dude, uh, ok" and leaves because he left the oven on and doesn't want to burn his noodles. Xehanort then tells the "Super Excited to be Xehanort Club" about his plans and it explains why Xion is here now, yeah, okay, whatever. We finally cut to Sora, right as he is about to jump into that tutorial he ate for lunch when he appears in The Final World again, a Dream Eater, whose name is something that is just hard to spell, and is also from Union Cross, tells Sora how much of a dingus he is and explains why what he's about to do is completely stupid, but Sora is already reading Noruma's guide on how to make this game a setup to VS13, I mean, how to fix this mess, so he time travels AGAIN, this time landing in the bad timeline where everyone died and despair and stuff, Sora jumps through his friends Hearts to try and find Kairi, feeling the feelings they had during that scene, which is pretty much watching you die in a Online game to a 12 year old who just started. We go through a bunch of fights we already did that were at the end of the game, but this time, having the option to chose to play as Not Sora, which is honestly challenging the player as playing as Sora just destories these bosses at he's most likely that end game save file you have at like, Level 90, and everyone is around level 36. The current timeline Sora then chases Xehanort into Scala Ad Caelum and Our Sora goes in front of him in order to find Kairi within that world. He goes into an side area that reveals that Scala is just Daybreak Town from Union Cross, so you better have played that game or else the game will explode. Sora finds 5 of the 7 pieces of Kairi and has to leave Scala because he showed him to fight Xehanort, so Sora leaves renters one of the guardians of light's Hearts, who now have to battle a bunch of Xehanort's armor like he was Tony Stark or something. They all group up then get separated except for Mickey, dear god, why the rattttt? Sora enters Mickey's heart to "connect the link" while Mickey, heavily wounded, reflects Xehanort's Armor and defeats them all. Yeah. Where was THAT YOU ULGY RAT? YA COULDN'T HAVE USED THAT MOVE SOONER??? Mickey shoots a Light beam into a Keyhole before passing out and Sora thanks Mickey-senpai for beating the bad guys and Sora enters the weird Keyhole portal Xehanort's Armor threw his friends into. Sora then... *sigh* I mean, this scene is cool, but, saying it just so cringeworthy... *okay, almost done... wooOOOOOOO* Sora connects all of their Hearts using "Mickey's Light" (insert Mickey's Abs Joker here) and saves all his friends, and finally, saves Kairi, but, before a happy ending can happen, Xehanort decides "hey, why couldn't I just do the same thing?" Or something, honestly, I have no idea why this fight happens, but Kairi beats up an old man, and it's actually weird since you can play as her to do this. Afterwards, Sora and Kairi appear in the Final World, and the Guardians of Light basically go "Well they're together, so it should be fine" Sora starts to get Thanos Snapped and decides to be in ALL OF THE BACKGROUND END CREDITS SCENES BECAUSE OF COURSE, WHYYY NOTTT? And Sora finally fades away.... Riku decides, "Hey, maybe we could bring Sora back like he did for us that one time, and twice with Kairi." And goes to The Land of Departure, where he and Terra share a bro hug and Terra, Aqua, and Ventus leave for the Realm of Darkness together to find Sora, even though Aqua should be terrified of the concept of going back there, but yeah, okay. Kairi decides to go into a coma to try and find Sora that way and have those science nerds do their business, I guess she never played Chain of Memories. 1 Year Later, Riku shows up in Radiant Garden and together with the Final Fantasy characters who were too lame to make it into the base game, watch as a Data Version of Sora gets beaten up and killed over and over by the Digital Versions of the Super Excited to be Xehanort Club and Riku finally gets frustrated and tells the Fairy God Mother about this dream he had, which was the serect movie of the base game, and after 2 months, Sora's data finishes the fights to finddddd.... nothing. Good to know that effort was worth it. We finally cut to Sora, who wakes up in the Night Version of the Final World, and calls out for someone and finds... Yozora? From, the video game Rex played in the Toy Story world? Whattttt? Sora recalls Yozora and Yozora basically says that Sora shouldn't be using his name, because it belongs to someone else, and Sora is just plain confused as what is even going on, and they have a good ol' fashioned, Anime Showdown, expect no one turns into a Boat, the Player dies a lot, and I mean, A LOT, and Yozora pulls some realllll rude attacks until Sora finally defeats him! Hooray (Pssst, this is known as the "Canon Ending" as people who hacked the game found out stuff, just look into it) Yozora then fades away and Sora is left wondering how his life got to this point. And that, was Kingdom Hearts 3 Re Mind, my gods, what a mess. I mean, yeah experiencing it is much better than reading or listening to what happens, but like, it's $30, and chances are, unless you're a Kingdom Hearts fan, you didn't buy it, soyeah, welcome to the series guys, it really likes to do this and have a Pain Train go max speed sometimes... if you think the story elements aren't that much, just go watch the cutscenes pme RU-vid, the DLC was clearly made for those Data Bosses as they take up the most amount of time, well, besides the Yozora fight, which is just *so cruel*

It was a full-fledged anime battle- Everyone believed in themselves a lot, Kairi stopped being a trope... No but really, the best part of that battle is her saying "please work" as a finisher call-out. I died.

So basically, we start off with some extra context about the many hoops that Sora had to jump through in order to save Kairi just in time for the ending where he faded away, which involves fighting the final bosses of KHIII again (occasionally playing as other characters such as Riku, Aqua, Kairi and Mickey). Kairi goes to sleep for a year so that Ansem the Wise and the other researchers can study her lost memories to search for Sora, but nothing happens on that front until the ending of Melody of Memory. Riku and the FF folks at Radiant Garden create a new Data Sora and have him fight suped-up versions of the 'real' Organization in hopes of finding Sora, and nothing happens. Then, Sora wakes up in the Final World and meets Yoroza, who was a fictional character within a fictional setting up until this point. The world transforms into Shibuya (a different Shibuya than the one that Neku and his friends hail from in The World Ends With You), and there are two outcomes where Sora turns into crystal if he loses, or Yoroza fades away if Sora wins. Yoroza wakes up in a car, as both he and Sora confess that neither of them know what's really going on anymore. Just like the audience.

I'll be so excited to see a Melody of Memory summary, with its jazzy version of Simple and Clean, allegedly focusing on Kairi, everyone praying she finally gets a personality and agency, only for her to.... literally turn into Sora and get told to get back in the kitchen or whatever. Nice~

I mean, yeah nothing really happened in KH3: ReMind or Episode: Limit Cut. Kairi's taking a nap to look for Sora. Aqua, Terra, and Ventus are looking for Sora in the Relm of Darkness. Riku is going to get some help from the fairy godmother to look for Sora... The most "interesting" thing happening is Sora met up with Yozora from an alternative Not!Final Fantasy Versus 13 universe somehow even though Sora's gone and it seems like there is some multiversal stuff going on... that dream theory thing might have some weight now as the world of Kingdom Hearts might not even be real, maybe(?). The most interesting thing happening still has no answers really its all just open-ended stuff for the next game in like 13 years.
