Great review on this set, I feel it's great value for money as it comes with the light kit. I love the design of this set, the rustic cabin feel and the interior detail is so nice. I agree some parts are more scratched than LEGO but I've had LEGO transparent glass parts totally scratched brand new so it happens. Love this set and the whole look of it. Great video as always 😍👍🇦🇺

Thank you so much Jo! ❤️ It truly is a charming one, and it’s reasonably priced too. Oh yeah, I can feel you with those scratches on transparent pieces - often happens to me too, right out of the box. Lately on Shuri's Sunbird from Black Panther. Right in the middle of it 😅

I know 🥲 And I even applied stickers on it before I consider writing to LEGO customer service about it. But it’s fine, it’s fine, IT’S FINE 🥲🥲😂 I actually saw this Lake House! Something to think about 😁 And I saw their new Jungle Temple, looks cool too!

This set looks awesome and is well worth it for the price. The fact that it includes wires and lights just adds to the value. There are definitely some good non-LEGO brand sets out there.

Cobi has been making superb sets that easily rival or surpass Lego for many years. But it's definitely good to see other competitors like Funwhole getting attention.

That is true - plus it’s Polish like I am 😁 - and they made a great progress at Cobi. I remember they were making practically LEGO copies in the early 90s, but for years now they have great and high quality products. FunWhole is definitely a worthy competitor too!

That is right - they make their own designs so it’s fair and square. A “clone brand” is just a traditional term for any LEGO-compatible sets manufacturer 😊

You are right here, it’s a fully original FunWhole design, not a knockoff/bootleg/copied set by any sort - the name “LEGO clone brand” is just one of the common names for any toy companies producing brick-building sets based on interlocking brick system. Hmm coś pięknego. Ja już ten zestaw kiedyś widziałem ale nie pomyślałem żeby go zakupić :D mega fajnie że da się go kupić w takiej cenie i jeszcze dostajemy oświetlenie :) ah zacząłem się nad nim zastanawiać zamiast tej chatki w kształcie litery A z LEGO :D super materiał :) Pozdrawiam

Przyznam, że set naprawdę robi mega wrażenie na żywo. I buduje się naprawdę przyjemnie - ja byłem bardzo miło zaskoczony. Fakt faktem, chatka w kształcie A nie ma fabrycznie dodawanych światełek 😁 Cieszę się bardzo, że się podoba! I dzięki za obejrzenie 😊 Pozdrawiam!

Great question! LEGO actually doesn’t have a patent on it, not on interlocking bricks alone - they used to, but these patents expired long time ago, some even few decades ago. LEGO still holds kinda-patent (so-called 3D trademark) on minifigures though. But as for bricks, they even lost some court cases regarding alleged patent infringement (against Mega Bloks). I did some research on that matter and say more about it on my “In-depth review: Botanical Garden MOC set w/ LED light kit | LEGO vs. CIRO comparison!” video (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KBMol3ExXEs.html) if you’d be curious! So in this case, everything is 100% legit and ethical.

Anytime, glad I could shed some light! I mean, there are some legit ones, like MEGA CONSTRUX/BLOKS, COBI or Sluban, and some of them even have their own interesting licenses on top of their original ideas - for example, MEGA does Game of Thrones and Pokémon, COBI does a lot of accurate historic military stuff etc., but these are nowhere near as popular as LEGO. And sadly, when you hear about LEGO “clones”, you mostly hear about questionable brands like LEPIN or LELE, who are just stealing LEGO sets designs, ignoring any license or copyright, and sometimes even steal MOC designs and produce sets as their own original ones without any credit. And I agree with you - this Wood Cabin here is a great (and fully original) set with decent value/price ration. And FunWhole also has some other fully original and very interesting designs - this is the only set of theirs I own, but feel free to check out their website (I linked to it in a pinned comment and a video description) and see for yourself. And they’re a new brand that popped up last year, I’m really curious to see what they’ll keep coming up with in the future

@@pescatormegabloks was a big toy company so it could fight lego but a lot of small brands start up but get crushed fast, there is a brand being sold in canadian tire in canada and it’s a knock off legi but the bricks go well together and they have cool war machines like tanks and boats

True that, there are lots of other toy companies that are selling brick-building sets with their own original set designs, so their not infringing any copyright or valid patents. That Canadian one you mentioned sounds like a perfect example! And it does sound cool 😁👌

Thanks for bringing this up! It’s actually quite an interesting matter and I did some research on the topic for my “In-depth review: Botanical Garden MOC set w/ LED light kit | LEGO vs. CIRO comparison!” video (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KBMol3ExXEs.html). LEGO doesn’t have any patent or hold copyright over bricks, interlocking brick system or any elements - they used to, but these patents expired long time ago (as patents are basically never perpetual), some even few decades ago. LEGO even lost some big court cases regarding alleged patent infringement (against Mega Bloks, later against other MEGA brands). Patent right and industrial property rights are practically never perpetual. The other thing are minifigures - LEGO still holds a so-called 3D trademark over them and these are protected (and FunWhole has none as far as I know, for sure none in this set). And there’s the matter of licensing, but this set here is an original design not based on any 3rd party intellectual property. So in this case, I’d say everything is 100% legit and ethical - though you’re right saying that parts were copied from LEGO ones.

@@habitofbricking It's not just that they are also interlocking bricks, they are the exact same design down to the shape of the leaves on the plant elements. Legal or not, they look like blatant stolen designs to me.

Hm, I’m not convinced yet 🧐 It looks more like MOC to me. There is something special in LEGO designs that cannot be faked. It’s still a nice design though - I love houses and furniture and it gave me some inspiration 😅 And LED lights look stunning indeed! Oh, and the sheep scared the sh*t out of me, but then I couldn’t stop laughing till the end of the video 😂 Awesome review ❤

I totally get that. And it is kind of MOC set - I mean, no LEGO designer made it and it didn’t come through the entire LEGO product release process, so the whole experience does feel different. You are absolutely right here - not every brick-building set brand is a cheap knockoff one like LEPIN or LELE. Sluban is VERY good - I don’t have any of their sets myself, but I know they are 100% legit and original, and they even have their own playing figures (kinda minifig equivalent). I’m very curious - do you have any Sluban sets? If so, how did you like them?

This is a beautiful set. The details look so good. I prefer a set like this with loads of little tiny details. Brings the set more to life. Adding lights to it makes it even more spectacular! Your videos are so entertaining. I like your outtakes 🤣🤣 good sense of humour.
