In what's been a sad week for the class 90's - A bright spark as 90018 & 90040 join Freightliner from DB after being acquired in the recent loco disposal tender issued by DB.
See FL locos 66504 and 66505 sent to Crewe TMD (E) from Basford Hall to collect the 2 Red liveried Class 90 'Skodas' to escape DB!
First up are a couple of aerial views of the class 66's getting into formation TnT of the class 90's before we join the action at platform level at Crewe station.
No time was wasted in getting FL branding on both of the locos.

Great catch and great news for 018 & 040. Just hope a good few of the others that only recently got stood down can be saved as well.No hope for the long term stored examples i'm afraid. Thanks for sharing, Colin.

Unfortunately not - They’ll be a further vid at 08:00 tomorrow morning to see the whereabouts of those that have left Crewe TMD(E) so far this week 👍

Don't get too excited yet - FL might yet be stripping them for parts.... Don't forget they have a full fleet of operational 90s already - plus these aren't the ones we had expected to go to them.

Hopefully anything in working order is sold and possibly a few others as spares donors and only the basket cases are scrapped. Are the 60s and 92s at brush spares donors?

@annatrindall9829 at the rate they lose contracts they mustn't have much business left. GBRf have got 3 year extentions on the yards they run and have secured new freight workings

surely the 90s would be of use to some 3rd world countries! its a joke good locomotives going to the bone yard as the crap thats hauling them aint much younger than them! + the only reason they're off for scrap is because the price of steel and copper and aluminium is sky high at the moment!!! good video as always 😊
