Danny, prior to COVID I had to travel a lot because of my job and I always stayed at a Marriott. I am Platinum for life…which means I always get upgraded room for free…forever. However, I never stay at a Towneplace before only at a full service Marriott. I used my points for free nights when I go on vacation 😊. I ❤ Marriott.
Wow a much nicer looking motel than the previous Motel 6. Looks almost like a small apartment. I hope you have a good night's sleep and can relax here. Thank you for another informative video.

Yesterday I felt so badly for you, but now I am excited that you will be staying in such lovely accommodations with nearly all the comforts of home ... Ok, so it's not the Ritz, but I actually think this room fits you even better for this trip. Enjoy your meal this evening ☺ Oh, and BTW, I noticed there weren't any condiments in the kitchen (salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard, etc.), so if you use those items, don't forget to get them when you shop for your dinner tonight. I tend to look for Marriot hotels when I'm traveling solo. They're nice even with my husband along on the trip, too! They are always clean, feel secure and the chain offers room fans if they are available. I worked as nightshift RN for many years and that led to horrible 'sleep hygiene' so I need a fan to sleep now. I don't know how long you are there for and what the hotel offers but Marriot's often have an evening weeknight "social hour". They offer some beers/wines/lemonades/water and light foods such as pastas, soups and salads (or whatever the planner fancies for the menu). The food is perfect for me as I don't eat large meals as a rule (unless I'm in Vegas!). The wine generally is lousy but the food is always pretty good for being included in the cost. It has been over 20 years since I stayed in a Motel 6. It was a scary experience. I was relaxing in the pool when gun fire broke out. I hid in a corner of the pool for a couple of hours. But the area was crawling with drug dealers and prostitutes so it was cops and sirens the entire night. nope nope nope nope nope. Not doing that again.
Good to see that you found a good hotel. It looks like the Townplace has a standard floorplan for their hotels in the USA. There might've been more storage in the hallway opposite of the kitchen on the other side of the fancy coat hangers. Please beware of the bottled soap and shampoo dispensers. Sometimes housekeeping does not check the level. Not fun finding out it is empty mid shower. The TV normally shows your name and member status. You aren't a Marriott member. Membership wouldn't help much at Townplace unless they had a larger room to upgrade you to. Hopefully, this Townplace does not have a terrible breakfast with all packaged microwaved food. Enjoy your stay.
@@dannythemedic Since you travel for work, it would make sense to sign up with a program! Fastrack your way to Platinum by calling their help line and asking to do the Platinum challenge. You only need 16 nights. Or spend a little money and get their credit card or two. The $650 card will give you platinum. I'm also a cheap SOB. I am not spending $650 for their credit card even with the benefits. Lol...I don't work for them. It's the chain that my wife likes because of their perks.
What an upgrade. Very nice hotel! I would definitely stay here. Has full kitchenette, better than Air B&B. It’s a great price still at $120/night. I’ve paid $400/night at Sheraton Times Square and wasn’t happy with my stay.
I always stay with Marriott. My brand of choice is Residence Inn. All rooms are suites with a full kitchen. The breakfast is killer! Plenty of hot food choices. And some weeknights they have a free bbq or light dinner.
LOL, Danny I see you got a complete New York luggage set, your items in the white garbage bag, those trash bags are the luggage set, low cost, CHEAP and it works! If you want to upgrade, use cardboard boxes also CHEAP! You can still walk around that pool with your shirt off. Those Texas women who got the hots for you will see you in a different "light." Now rub your hands together and yell out, "Yahoo!' You're in Texas now and everything is BIGGER!
@Mr. Mark S I think your state is like Hawaii in some respects in that the gas taxes are out of this world. I should state that the price I quoted is at Sams Club's gas station. Other gas stations are way higher...maybe 50-60 cents more.

new hotel looks nice and you get free breakfast. good choice. if you have time could you drive to Buc-ee's gas station? it's huuuuuge AND they have tasty bbq and other good eats.
For a single guy, you sure pack a lot. In my old days, the hotel offers toothbrush, razor, and real bath soap. I hate hand pump bottles. You pick the right choice. The hotel is nice and next to the gasoline station too.
The place looks great. Thanks for giving us the tour. But I still havent figured out what was wrong with the Quality Inn at half the price. Now the motel 6 that was a totally different story.
The quality inn was very nice for that price, but this one is a chance to stay here at a reduced rate so it's kinda for the experience and I get to make one more video
Thank goodness you checked out of that depressing motel...that was some scary you know what🥺🥺🥺 well big fridge for the Walmart soda..tall glasses for "tap water" and pot and pans. Got my popcorn and diet Sam for A Really Good Video but turns out to be a Meh Video. The build up of excitement and anticipation came crashing after you skipped the 4th floor shower water pressure tests. TWANG!!
