It seems to me that Xiaomi releases phones quite frequently. I can't really keep up with them. Wanted to get a new phone to replace my aging LG Stylo. But I often got stuck in my research process. What is the difference between Xiaomi 5X and Redmond 5? Which is the better phone. I think u mentioned X5 has very good rear camera. Back to reading the reviews. Really enjoy all ur reviews all these time Bought a couple of TV boxes based on ur reviews in the past. Still stuck on the action cameras because I could never find the camera in the price u quoted in the video. They should be cheaper over time but not true. Keep up the great work and happy new year.

it means that it's the rom intended for Chinese use. You can still select english and install nova launcher and customize everything

of course it will depend how you use it, but for regular usage...browsing, videos and 50% brightness i was able to get almost 12h SOT

I'm Jeff from Canada and i was hoping I could request you do a video a on chinese smartphones that would work in the north american market (GSM 850/1900 MHz, WCDMA 850/1900, FDD-LTE Band 4, the most used, Band 7, with some use of Bands 12/17/13). Maybe a quick video highlighting your personal favorite picks in $50 increments, like $50, $100, $150, $200 upto the $500 range. I really trust your opinions and your testing methodology is flawless. thanks ByMind for replying! Xiaomi phones are all messed up, they have redmi 5, 5a, note 5, note 5a etc can't even make sense of their model numbers and then their specs are different on different sites. most sites don't mention that this has compass!!!!

An IR blaster? That's amazing considering (possibly false) rumors about Televisions made after 2020 not having an IR window and requiring some sort of chip to talk to your remote/phone.

Maaan I love your reviews! Your skills are amazing I have to say. I'd rather pick the plus version because HD display in almost 2018 is unacceptable for me. I feel pretty ashamed what this thing can do for this price. I should wait and grab redmi 5 plus over galaxy S8 and save a lot of cash. :D Keep it up! Getting to 100k subs ;)

Redskull, what is the model of the rear camera sensor? Xiaomi did a bait and switch with the Redmi 4 note by advertising Sony and giving Omnivision/Samsung. The Samsung ones weren't as good and Omnivision was bad, at least before later updates.

Thank you for your reply my dear friend! So basically the section where Redmi 5 is better than Note 4x is camera? I also saw some difference in screen quality and color reproduction on this phones,in some videos Redmi seems more pixeled and Note 4x more vibrant and smooth. Also the speaker sounds more loud and clear than Note 4x. Since you have used the phones could u please tell me your opinion?? I'm super confused!! Many thanks for your help!

I'd love to know your battery settings. I use a Redmi Note 4 (625) and only get 5 1/2-6hrs of screen on time. Odd call, texts, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, no sync, only call and text notifications, battery saving location settings. Telus network. Are you using Xiaomi battery savings feature?

+Jimmy hey, i never use any battery saving modes and i don't make any changes to the phone. The way it is when i get it, that's how it stays. Keep in mind that i don't use these phones for a long period of time. The more apps are installed the more processes end up running in the background. Aa a quick example... When i first got my S8+ i was able to get about 6.5h SOT. After 6 months of use i can only get about 3h SOT

For a 720p display and 3GB/32GB of memory, 150-180 bucks might seem a little steep to some for late 2017 though. Many phones in that price range offer 4GB/64 or even 6GB/64 nowadays, plus FullHD (plus a faster processor like the Sanpdragon 653, or even 820, or Helio X20/25).

You can reply to notifications from the notification bar. But in MIUI you have to scroll down with 2 fingers, it's different from stock Android.

just had a terrible experience with gearbest and i think i wont be using them again.A phone i ordered went missing and call to singapore post confirmed this.I was told gearbest had to contact them so as to get compensation then refund me but when i message gearbest all i get is a silly automated reply saying the parcel is on its way.No way to call them or speak to a real person.I dont really know what to do now.Is it because its christmas no one working or perhaps unless its over 25 working days they only use automated reply.

how long has it been since the parcel was shipped? it usually takes a month to get the products and the tracking number doesn't really display any information

i called singpost and they told me the item is damaged or contents missing and that they wont post it back to gearbest nor nor to me .I spoke to a manager there.He said gearbest have to contact them and arrange compensation for me.sounds like someone stolen the contents.

It is really a budget phone. Thats why one should not complain if it lose some feature from the other. And thats what i hate with other reviewers, not to mention the indians *cough*. But u nailed pointing everything out that it is a budget phone. GJ!
