The Feast of All Saints (November 1) is our Christian celebration of our ancestors. In preparation, we set aside time in October to learn about global traditions around death and remembrance. Please join us for any or all of this multi-part interfaith series.
Wednesday, October 7, 7:00-8:15 p.m.: The Rev. Taber-Hamilton presents on death and remembrance in the traditions of regional Indigenous peoples.
Wednesday, October 14, 7:00-8:15 p.m.: Learn about the blending of Mesoamerican ritual and Christianity known as Dia de los Muertos from the Rev. Paul Moore of La Iglesia de la Resurrección in Mt. Vernon, WA. If you find time to watch the film Coco before attending, all the better.
Wednesday, October 21, 7:00-8:15 p.m.: Laura Ellis from Sakya Monastery teaches us about the elaborate rituals of remembrance observed by Tibetan Buddhists.
Wednesday, October 28, 7:00-8:15 p.m.: Imam Jamal Rahman will talks about the rich observations and beliefs about the afterlife in Islam.
