Light is just kind of important in photography and video and it’s important to have the light you want, when you want. They say “the best camera is the one that’s with you,” and I’ll amend that to include, “the best light is the one that’s with you.” Zhiyun has just released an extremely versatile and very portable LCD light - the Cinepeer CM25. In this video, I’ll share my thoughts on potential use cases for photography and video, as well as my first thoughts after using this light.

Good and useful video Michael. About a year ago I bought two very similar lights (a bit smaller) made by Lume Cube and they work great for my once in a blue moon tabletop “stuff”. Two things (different) I noticed between Zhiyun and the ones that I have, increasing/decreasing power is more precise (step up or down) on the Lume Cube and they also have two 1/4-20 threaded connections, one on the horizontal and one on the vertical side which I find very useful. Yes, I know, who asked me. Be well.

Thanks for the input! The two 1/4-twenty threads are a nice touch. Some of the other lights I have also have magnets, which is nice, but I don't use much. There's so many ways to do all these things! Nice to have so many options :)

Hot shoe capable or cable connection to remote port? Bill

Hi Bill! It has neither direct hot shoe connection or cable connection to remote port. As a constant light, it does not need to communicate with camera. It can be mounted to hot shoe, as show in the video, with an adapter with quarter-twenty on one end and hot shoe mount on other.
