I think these are a great deterrent in combination with a wheel/disk lock if you're going to the shops or just out and about- nice and visible and something that looks like it would be very obvious in trying to remove in a public place, especially in combination with a disk lock. IMO there is no one ~perfect~ security measure that suits *all* situations, it's about combining a variety of deterrents to make your bike too much risk and/or effort to bother with. When you're at home use a good chain through the swing bar attached to a sturdy base of some kind, a wheel lock and something like this throttle lock and you should be pretty set, but that's not something you can always do when you're out riding, so you do the best you can... I mean, lbr, if someone really, *really* wants your bike they're gonna get it short of keeping it in your house or a very secure garage.
Quicker then smashing it undo the 10 mm bolt holding the lever on... Problem solved maybe slide it of the grip these silly expensive locks don't save your bikes.
they are not safe do not buy it I put on my scooter and in 10 seconds I opened it and they took my machine, I did not prevent or get off my house !!!!!
You’re only trying to scare away folks, and hope they run from the noise, the one I bought had a loud alarm built into it, so the thief would wake up a few neighbors or attract a few other people, till you arrive on the scene and wish them words of endearment.
or you could just use the bolt cutters in every stupid thieves tool kit, snip the brake line and away they go into the back of a trailer..... sorry that took me all of 2 seconds to think of. a disk lock is always better and doesn't cost $67
Haha This test s ridiculous !!! A bike will shake off as you hit it with the hummer resulting on not having any power at all from impact... the harder you hit the bime will just drop... tupid...
parris watson yeah then you have no braking power as 70% of your stopping power is your front brake. And a brake lock like that with no lever you now have no brakes at all
