Thank you for this guide. Hopping into a new mmo is always daunting but taking your time explaining the basics makes it easier for a new player to have a smoother ride.
It'd be cool to see this turned into a series that comes out once every 6mo to a year or so, updating on all the new unlocks and discoveries made over time
LIKE LIKE LIKE LIKE. These last 2 videos you mad have been on the spot. I love these videos. Relevant to helping new/returning players alike. Even helping people who want to get into PvM. Great stuff
I want to point something out for people that are new new. Right now with golden phats, I farmed them on a few alts with no investment. Started with one and bought bonds. This earned me all the gp I needed for the buyables and mid level pvm gear(really all you needed). This took me two weeks. So it’s achievable. Don’t get overwhelmed, set a goal and go for it.
Seems like rs3 is based on the “end game”.. you need 90+ in basically everything to do anything worth while. & after that you still need more ridiculously priced items to even attempt it. Then augmenting is another whole “necessity”. There’s just so many layers of shit you constantly need.
Combat related quality of life items or abilities are by far my favorite things to go for. I will grind like no other if it means I can achieve a quality of life item/ability such as the bonepicker/death note combo. Life changing for slayer.
So might seem a bit ridiculous but following this I've been able to solo my first bit of gwd1. Bandos armor and a sara godsword max melee. Not a big accomplishment but for someone just coming back after 12 years, and not having too much to go off of I'm happy with it. This guide really helped 🙂
This is a nice guide! I'm a returning rs player who last played around summer 2013. I started over and am now just working towards getting all my skills to 50 and wanted to set some future goals and this vid gave me a nice list of things to do. Thanks!
Reaper tasks are a staple of sustaining your pvm progression. Now that gifts of the reaper are being handed out like candy everyone should go for their hydrixes
@@champkmaq7510 oh im maxed cb and such i afk gw2 alot..but my rng is terrible. the most ive ever had was 1.3b. my main problem is the phase bosses or hardmode, it isn't really even my gear.... it's my bars.
@@chobitsgnarlslover I usually look at the wiki for bossing revolution bars but then I use them on manual. It just gives a good rotation. Hard mode glacor is fairly easy and with the drop rates buffed it's a nice boss to do!
@@chobitsgnarlslover You get 1 penalty free re-roll for your daily reaper task. Even if you get penalty for multiple retries, it's still better than 0.
I mean, early PvM doesn't take anywhere near this much-- you may not be doing Telos any time soon, but early bosses like KBD, Mole, and Barrows are pretty doable with skills in the 60s or 70s and no perks. (Though for KBD, I'd recommend 85 herblore for super antifires if at all feasible. If not, kind of have to suck it up and use the anti-dragon shield.)
I always wanted to get in serious PVM. I am more a skiller type of person but always envy those who PVM and get those drops which gets me to try and fail with it. I hope one day I will transition into a PVM person.
Amazing guide and as always amazing video but I feel like you forgot the #1 thing for getting into pvm. Being okay with failing, you will fail, lots. 90% of people will fail massively when doing a new boss and that's one of the biggest hurdles to jump, you will fail, you will die and that's okay. Like the saying goes, A master has failed more times than the beginner has even tried. You aren't gonna be Evil Lucario or the RS Guy on your first 30 kills and that's okay. Like I said it's an amazing video and a good starting point for people to get into pvm but I think a lot of people miss that one point.
Yea these individual things that you can aquire really do add up. As an early pvmer I've noticed substantial increases in what I can do and handle. Even w only a moderate amount of early upgrades I can handle stuff that I didn't have a chance against not long ago, I mean even w essentially the same combat levels. Now it's becoming about learning mechanics..
can you please label the items for the gear setups, im still learning what a lot of these items are, weapons and rings especially, showing a picture doesnt help, i have no info to go off.
I’m still struggling after watching all the pvm vids possible 😅, I can’t time anything right when trying to pvm with mechanics. I don’t understand the abilities in the slightest either they’re just way too complex for someone who doesn’t play all that often.
Im working toward doing croesus runs cause enjoy that boss but i wanna start getting into privates so im trying to 99 and get everything i need for fishing and woodcutting
99 defence is worth it and the cape it can give you a exstra bit of health if you almost die highly suggest if your gonna get any 99s first and your planing on bossing you get defence
In terms of items importance (Not in order): 1. Ring of Death (A must have whether you're rich or poor. Death cost any cheap and could possibly cost you as much as 2m gold every 90 mins since you'll die on average 1 time every 2 hours of PVMing) 2. Amulet of Souls (Assuming you not doing end game PVM such as Glacor, Telos, Solak etc snd the cost per hr is way cheaper than EOF) 3. Capable action bars for all 3 combat styles preferably 2 per style such as duel wield and 2hs (Often get overlook for some weird reason. You can do even end game PVM without extra buy abilities such as greater chain or fury however what you cannot do is efficient bossing or afk bossing with a crappy action bar) 4. Money (Check your death cost and see how much go is needed to get your items back from Mr. Death. Not even the best gear and prayer can stop you from dying at boss so you will need money to get your items back. I suggest having a capital of 3M gp before camping bosses). 5. Prayer + Herblore + Summoning (All are equally important especially in mid - end game PVMing). 6. Quests (Quest gives you access to free hax when PVMing such as various abilities and money making methods to get you the require gp to buy codexs and gear for PVM)
ring of vigour. I barely ever use ASR. ROV always procs, ASR only has a chance of activating. Basically i have 3 rings: Ring of death, Ring of vigour for ultimates and specials, luck of the dwarves for increased loot at end of kill.
It would be nice to see a video that just tells you which skills, and what levels they need to be to be at to do PVM, ---including the required skill levels needed for the quests that SHOULD be done. I feel like all these PVM videos are out of touch with RS3 fanbase and think everyone has 99 on all skills and can just pick up PVM just that easy. Im not talking about killing that mole rat in Varrock over and over again. This whole PVM in RS3 is nice and i really want to do it, but the true investment to actually start is so much, that looking for guides on how to get started are often so convoluted, sigh.
Archaeolgy is the hard one for me. I'm barely like 60 arch and I've been playing since March this year. It's just so boring and a little tedious imo. I finally bought a GoE to help with the tediousness but have yet went to go lvl up more since then lol
Yes. Its extremely good. It allows you to pop off extra thresholds, can be used as an extra adrenaline potion (kind of used in the same way) and can be used for panic defensive thresholds.
I made a cryptbloom+animate dead onetrick hcim and these guides are great man keep it up ❤️ PS I'm pretty sure dt isn't required for temple, only city. It's only strongly recommended
@@watevir you're right it's the other way around. You don't need it for city. Makes like no sense as it unlocks new spells, even Azas quest doesn't req dt
@@xJabZz If you take the age-shift into account it kinda makes sense, even a fresh character has technically already freed Azzanadra back in the 5th age - which is why he shows up here and there even if you haven't completed DT yet
As an Ironman, what I like about bossing at a low combat level is that death always assigns Giant Mole or King Black Dragon which are easy to beat. I still get decent slayer and reaper points. If I were to level up my combat too high, I wouldn't have the gear to take down a lot of deaths assignments. So, I purposely stay low combat level, do my daily reaper tasks while I level up my support skills such as crafting, runecrafting, and smithing, so that eventually, I will be able to have my hydrix jewelry and masterwork by the time I start leveling up combat
Death cost is not an issue. That’s your opinion not a fact. Btw, if it was to he changed, people would have more money, which would lead to even more inflation, which would cost you a lot more than a death cost
Good video but this is exactly why i will never get into bossing, there soooooo mutch stuff you need to know/have, and i am not interested in memorizing all of this shit i have other stuff to do in my life xD
Excuse me? Its possible to get 103 invention in one week? Well i really don't know what i am doing, can u explain pls? It seems so slow Haha thanks great video
@@Psyshimmer hang in there 75 is right around that breaking point. I think 80 is where the xp starts increasing rapidly. Plus you get the incamdo mattock which really pops off
Bandos set (6.3 mill), Masuta warspear (3.3 mill), amulet of fury (975k) and ring of fortune (687k), these 11.26 mill set + a skill cape should be enough to get you through GWD1 and GWD 2 bosses (with the exception of Kree since his pretty much immune to melee). However, 96 herblore for overloads IMO is a top priority when getting into PVM and herblore is a very expensive skill to train, also, huge PVM profits really only start once you are able to beat bosses like Nex and Raxxor and you'll likely need t90s weapons, Ammy of souls, and t80s armor at least for these bosses.
bro overloads arent that much of a dps boost, its liek +2 levels from a grand magic potion, its just that you have to refresh it constnatly, so its kinda annoying. same thing with prayer, except it gives an accuracy boost so its more useful at some bosses compared to others.
ya, but not having to refresh it is op when using brews... you basically can't use brews if you don't have ovlds. plus if you get to 96 might as well go to 99 to boost up to elder overloads that give +21 to 99 stats. plus the combination overloads that will help save inv spaces (though expensive)
Most of the skills needed for PvM aren't *that* expensive... Archaeology is meant to be trained with you gathering most of your own materials (remember to switch to caches once you have enough damaged artifacts), herblore can be profitable if you're willing to accept a middling XP rate, summoning and prayer aren't too crazy these days, and dungeoneering is free. T80+ weapons are easy too-- T85 melees are less than 2M for the pair, and T80 ranged/mage can be done with an attuned crystal seed; you get one for free by talking to the NPC by the singing bowl if you have the levels to craft one and haven't yet. Arma armor costs 27M right now, but the T60 demon slayer armor (4M) is good enough to start with.
I love your videos and have for years. I've watched you become a top tier rs RU-vidr. But, the way you say enjoy in the intro has only gotten creepier and more cringe throughout the years.
Just looked for fun that LotD is like 300m now. Lmao.. I bought it for 30m just a year ago. Makes me not want to play the game again if stuff is so damn expensive now. Seems like the market is just fucked
Protoxx, I love your videos man, but I think you tend to set a very unrealistic standard for people to achieve. I’d wager 99% if your viewers aren’t able to play this all day, so skilling up to meet requirements doesn’t just take a week. Be honest about the grinds and gold that will be needed. I’ve been at this game for a year as a member and still don’t have your requirements met!
@@ProtoxxGaming thanks for your reply. Do you have a guide I could follow to get invention up that fast? I’ve been at it a year mixed in with everything else I’m trying to get up: quests, gold, items, achievements and I’m only 60 so far
@@tylerluurtsema9084 I have a guide 1-120 yes. Ill link it below. Basically augment cheap weapons and armour and sit in the abyss. Easy 1M+ xp/hr ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rzHz5QwD97A.html (skip to the training part)
I don't mean this to criticize you personally , but I believe you're a little out of touch with the average or new player to RS3 when you call getting to 99 summoning , archaeology etc easy. The grindset needed alone isn't easy
I think I understand where you're coming from. The goals I set out in this video to become pvm ready are quite steep and require some serious grinding. I'm aware of that but these things will be needed to be effective in pvm, you can get started with less (as stated in the video) but the things mentioned are goals to work towards. You will of course not get all of these within a day of work. Without some of these things (high level familiar/overloads) newer players will simply struggle more than someone with experience will, hence the suggestion.
I appreciate your videos but you ask too much in a lot of these videos, especially for ironman. It's always "you need 99 in basically eberhthing and all these quests done to access these and also access to all these super high tier items" and most people want to know actual minimums to get started
I think runescape 3 is really in trouble. If you are recommending any skill to be in the 90s, I think there is a severe issue with how the game is currently working.
Honestly, getting 90s these days is easier than ever. So many opportunities for lots of free exp. Plus skilling reworks, new areas has made the game 1000x less Grindy than the old school days.
